I warned you this would be a big update. In the end, I decided to not bother with a change log here, as it's pretty much a complete overall. This is not done, but is much more what v1.1 will look like. I wanted to get this up early as some people will be starting a playtest and I wanted something for them to play :)
The big changes:
* There are two new Disciplines. Translocation and Projection, but they do not have associated subclasses. I may add those in the future, but currently they are just available for selection with the other big change...
* The second Discipline is now free-select. I may restrict this to a list, but right now it's a free-for-all as there is no interaction I'm particularly worried about shutting down.
I am still a little worried that subclasses will be viewed as lacking indentity - perhaps even more so now that they only have one discipline attached, but we'll see.
I may still add a Shaper/Nomad subclass, but I'm not sure I need to, or if there is enough to distinguish them. I think those are really just the names of people that focus on those Disciplines rather than enough coherent content for a subclass, but I may change my mind on this.
In particular, I just don't know that having only the Translocation power makes a lot of sense, as your core action loop would be... uh... a tad silly (zapping back and forth through people). It just makes more sense as a second discipline to me.
Shaper is more likely, but I also am not sure what I would add to it that I wouldn't just want to bake into the Discipline itself.
The main thing that will still be coming here is more talents and spells... about 2-3 more of each before the public release probably, and some more fine tuning on the balance - particularly with the Projection Discipline... I think it's okay, but I need to sit down and crunch some numbers as it's fundamentally different than the others, and different is tricky.
There is a lot of polish to do on this one still, as I really have been moving a lot of stuff around and copy and pasting snippets everywhere, so apologies - as noted, I'm trying to get this up by a deadline of a patron's upcoming session :)
I also scrapped the modifier tables... I liked them well enough, but a lot of people complained about them, so it's now more of a list. Hopefully that's easier for people to read.
I know some people will never be happy the way I split the disciplines (as Telekinesis and Translocation should both technically be Psycoportation, Projection is a narrow slice of Metacreativity, etc) but ultimately I think it just makes more sense like that, and in the long run there will be more new 5e players playing it than old 3.5 players playing it, so while I do keep in mind the legacy, I also don't want to bind too strongly to it just because.
As always, let me know your thoughts!
