Poll: Crafting System Items & Balance
Added 2020-09-24 19:59:38 +0000 UTCThere is going to be a handful of crafting polls coming, but after talking to some folks I wanted to get a sense of where people are and what they want.
I want to be perfectly clear that I'm not going to treat the results of this poll as necessarily binding, but I will let it influence how I present the items and what I focus on.
To further explain the options:
- Should present Ruled-As-Written items only: This means that if I let you craft alchemist fire, it would be the alchemist fire as presented in the books.
- Should modify & balance default items: This means that if I let you craft alchemist fire, I would use a rebalanced version of it, like what I presented in the "Useful Common Items" document, but updated.
- Should modify & Balance default items and add new items: This would mean that not only would it change items like alchemist fire, it would also add new ones, like alchemist's acid.
Let me know your thoughts or if you have any questions!

New stuff. I'm not using a ton of homebrew because I need accessibility and exact compatibility with RAW.

I feel like accessibility is important; people should be able to use a crafting system without necessarily switching to new versions of the items. However, lots of mundane items are completely unbalanced bullshit. I feel like the best route to go would be to be to make new/rebalance mundane items, but keep them in the same power tier (roughly) as the original, so people could use your's or Wizard's version of the item, as a variant rule.
