Crafting 0.4.1, Sorcerers, and the most horrifying of Druids!

First of all, I've promised frequent updates here, and frequent updates we shall have. The numbers and DCs of Woodcarving and Tinkering have been updated; almost every thing has been slightly tweaked based on feedback and the updated math. Enchanting should be update tomorrow but might go into Thursday as that's a big on. Expansions and new branches will resume once that's done.
Note: I'm not doing many updates to the text right now beyond that I'm condensign materials to their own section. Right now its mostly a numbers game, and I'll come back for more details and polish once those are processed. So... many... spreadsheets... but I think it'll be worth it in the long run.

No PDF right now... the PDF generator seems to have taken a hiatus from working again, so I'll have to figure something out there soon. Will try to have a PDF version with the update (you can make your own PDF from the GMBinder version by going to print->save as PDF).
Sorcerer - Planetouched Origin
So some folks may have expected me to go with my version of the Aberrant Mind, but I made that one when WotC had announced they'd retired their version, and with them bringing theirs back, I feel it may be somewhat too close to that one, and I find the concept a little too similar to some of the other Psionic Spellcasters I've made (most notable That Which Lies Beyond Warlock).
So I decided that there was another way to take, and that not everything needed to be horror-mind-bending-madness, and that other parts of the Psionic system made sense to tie into here - so a Dimensional take on Sorcerer was born. I really am fond of their capstone, though I think I may bring want to bring some small element of that down to their 6th level so its not reserved for just Tier 4 fun, but waiting to see how playtesting goes with it before making more changes:

Sorcerer - Aether Heart
This is, I think, the first non-Artificer thing I posted for 5e? Obviously this is a little updated from the version, but it still harkens back to a simpler time :)
Going to be level with you, I'm not sure if this will be included in the poll for the Compendium or not, as its connection is a bit tenuous but it may be - it started life as a subclass for Warforged Sorcerers after all :)

Druid - Circle of Nightmares
...So much for not everything needing to be horrifying nightmare stuff. Welp.
Though, I'd argue, Druids are always a little weird what with their morphing into things. This just seems like the obvious extension of that.
Now, I'm going to be level with you blokes, this started as something... very different. Originally this was a druid where you could turn into a curated list of abherrations (mostly). However, I then encounter the fact that literally none of those are in the SRD and that that idea was very much not going to work with an OGL product. So... back the drawing board.
While this version is very new, I actually think this is probably an overall good change - while I think there's room in a non-OGL thing for a Druid that works the I originally envisioned, i think this is potentially a more interesting and flexible pile of horrors that can bring in more interesting ideas - while aberrations provide some interesting options, a lot of them were a little niche with some highly specialized abilities, while this is a master of flexibility.
I think I like this version better (even if it was born of limitations) but it likely has more... evolution... to go :)

Playtesting
There is just a massive amount of playtesting going on, which is great. I love to hear it, and its very helpful. I'm working to provide a good feedback form that'll be a little more manageable, especially as I'm gearing up to send out the first real playtest packet for the Compendium, and will really need a more manageable way to handle that scale of feedback. Looking into solutions now, but it'll probably a Google-form/survey of some kind.
Have a good one folks! You know where you can find me if you have any thoughts or questions :)

I'll need to look into it; I'll add that in a future version.

2021-03-25 22:21:48 +0000 UTCIt doesn't do the disintegrate effect. I used to in the first draft, but it caused a lot of headaches. Perhaps I should tweak the name, but the name sort of ties into a theme.

2021-03-25 01:22:54 +0000 UTCI really love the Circle of Nightmares druid as a concept! I love the flavor of being a kind of voice/advocate for aberrations and other abominations. Plus anything that gives access to beholder like eye rays has my vote! That being said, I am curious about the disintegration ray. Does it reduce targets taken to zero hp or less to dust as per the spell? "A disintegrated creature and everything it is wearing and carrying, except Magic Items, are reduced to a pile of fine gray dust. The creature can be restored to life only by means of a True Resurrection or a wish spell." Additionally, does it disrupt, destroy or counter Force creations as the spell does? Really interested on playtesting this regardless, just curious.
