Here's one of the first crafting recipes available called Improvised Cooking Station.

This cooking station can be used for those cooking crafts that require heat / fire source in your vicinity.

While I tried really hard not to make any suggestions or recommendations due to the 100s of other people who also have a long list of things they want or have to have in game, I feel the need to at least bring this to your attention. I think you should stick with gas for the stove because to power a hotplate with a 12v battery would require the use of a AC/DC Inverter. The addition of an inverter to the game would be a great one though as it would give the possibility to power any electronic items which may be added later, from a 12v battery source. Furthermore while we're on this topic, the weight of the 12v battery in game is 0.4kg, which is drastically low compared to real world numbers. With a 12v Li-Ion specifically made for camping, hiking, outdoor activities we can put a realistic weight of about 1.2-1.3kg. P.S. I just passed the 200 hours mark on Steam, which doesn't include the Dev Build playtime.
