Dev Update (31/07/2024)

Hi!

Not really a dev update but just wanted to thank you for supporting this project and me as a developer.

Next month will be one of the biggest months for RtV in terms of new visual content (map expansions) and I'm really looking forward on your feedback about these changes.

I think before the next demo, I should also share you one extra dev build with these new visuals and expanded areas to make sure there's no unexpected performance issues with rendering and terrains.

I will most likely provide this visual / performance dev build end of next week.

Yep nw. Kind of neat to see the stuff you can get in store, in a survival game. The demo was actually a refreshing outlook on game development. Keep up the great work! Making me want to switch from UE5 to Godot.

This is actually my first time ever supporting someone on Patreon, and my first time supporting a developer like this directly. And I'm really glad it's this project, haven't regretted it.

Potentially Hacker

Looking forward to the build! I’ve been enjoying the new AI a lot! Can’t wait to see how they are on a larger scale map. I have had quite a few moments with them in the current state of Village and they’re already providing very unique moments

securityCase

Me too!

When a map is freshly made, I think it can be forgotten how human beings make modifications to their buildings and the natural environment. Do a pass to make some alterations made by humans, then another, then another, so you have layering of alterations. The result should look very realistic. For example, in Scum there is a very strangely laid-out road system. Most players will drive overland in places rather than sticking to the roads and wasting time. The devs should create dirt roads reflecting those player chosen paths.

TacShooter

I can't express for how long I've wanted a game like this to exist. Just a pure survival shooter experience without any monsters or zombies, the familiar area for the map is certainly a plus. I've never backed any project before, but I felt it would be stupid not to support the development of something that calls to me as much as the concept of RtV. Lovely surprise for the dev build, wasn't expecting there to be one so soon.

Mello' Mike

Im happy to support the project. RtV looks like a very promising project. From the outside it looks like everything is going smoothly as planned.

Thank you, Antti for letting us be part of your development and journey! We love to be part of it and cheering on you!

I've never felt more justified in supporting a product long-term than with Road to Vostok. I hope the rare jet fly-over event makes a return soon. :)

Fonzi

Perfect. I was hoping one more dev build before the demo.

BlackVomit

I actually feel a sense of pride to be supporting a project like this. Finding a Dev with the amount of passion and commitment like you is really difficult especially now adays. I am really looking forward to seeing what you have in store for RTV :)

Infinity

I am really glad to have have had the opportunity to witness a master class in game development, so actually thank you Antii
