Hi!
I wanted to quickly mentioned few things about Steam wishlists.
Like most of you probably know, wishlists are the main "commercial potential" metric for most indie devs like myself and they provide multiple benefits:
Wishlists highlight that people are potentially interested about your game and this creates a huge amount of motivation for the developer.,
Wishlists act as unique "mailing list" for the game release, since people who wishlisted the game will receive an email notification once the game releases.,
Wishlists are extremely helpful for multiple conversations and networking opportunities since they prove a "proof" that you are doing something right.,
These wishlist numbers can also drift quite a lot since they can be removed / reverted.
For example, when I decided to make that engine switch for Road to Vostok, many people maybe lost their trust towards the project (totally justified given the circumstances) and these numbers took a big hit from that decision.
Today is however quite a special day for Road to Vostok since now these wishlist numbers have reached a 500K milestone and the trajectory is returned to same like it was before the engine switch decision.
With this specific number, Road to Vostok is the most wishlisted game in Finland and currently 62th in the whole world on Steam.
I want to thank you all who have wishlisted the game, it's one of the best ways that you can support an upcoming indie game nowadays.
This being said, if you know a trustworthy game developer or some other upcoming game that you are interested, I highly recommend for giving them that important wishlist since it truly matters.
Thanks!
ps. I have now decided what will be included in that "final demo", so I will share that feature list tomorrow and some other information as well.
