2025-06-17 12:49:39 +0000 UTCto kind of answer your question about hoetaek/hui not being in zb1 (you've already just figured this out yourself so i'm not going to worry about spoiling that), there were a lot of factors. one of them is that a big reason why he went on the show wasn't to debut, but really just to get eyes on him and on pentagon. even if he did end up debuting, the main purpose of that was to try and bring attention to pentagon since their popularity was declining and their contract period was coming to an end. a lot of pentagon fans also really didn't want him to debut in zb1 because they didn't want him to have to leave pentagon, so most of his preexisting fans did not vote for him on boys planet. he also brings this up himself later on in the show, but despite his talent, he is one of the oldest contestants (after this elimination he is the oldest) and these days in kpop people really don't lean towards "older" idols, which took away from his popularity as the show went on. he's in his 30s and has been in the industry for a while, and people wanted to see newer, fresher faces (i personally don't care at all about what age an idol is, but you can see in how companies are debuting idols younger and younger that age is a big concern in the industry as a whole).

They did actually explain the whole top 11 thing at the start of the elimination but its mentioned like once the entire ep and they referred to the top 11 as the top 9 NOMINEES so I get if you missed it at the start that’d be super confusing! Im p sure the next elimination is structured the same way People were definitely mad about contestants like mingyu and Doha ranking higher than they deserved when bp first aired (myself included) but watching it back I can appreciate what they brought to the show and that they always put in 100% to make sure they were getting as much as they could from their experience even if they didn’t expect to be in the final group, they both have really good attitudes and just want to improve so I’ve ended up growing very fond of them lol The jump in quality of the performances after the first elimination is quite crazy so I’m excited to see your reactions 🫶🏻
