HDD failure/Lost all Data (including stories)
Added 2022-07-18 12:05:04 +0000 UTCI just now for some reason had another HDD fail on me, it's a lesson to only buy quality storage from now on. anyways all stories and all renders from the past, even shaders are completely gone.
This means i don't have the means to continue the comic i was working on, or even finish past animations.
I'll redownload assets from my library bit by bit and recover in no more than a day or two but there is no way for me to bring the data to continue any comic i worked in the past.
I'll try to start a new comic as soon as it's possible for me, sorry everyone.

2022-07-19 16:46:00 +0000 UTCThis is less of a quality-storage consideration and more of.. use an online backup service of some kind sort of thing. When your livelihood is kept as data, better make sure it'll take more than one disaster or accident to lose it. Local and online backups of precious data so, say, an nvidia videocard catching fire from playing a certain amazon-sponsored videogame melting a nearby drive, or a single random drive error from cosmic radiation, or mis-remembered password isn't enough to permanently stop work on it. edit: but good luck in the future, having to recreate anything is a right pain even when you do have redundancies and backups for most all the important things..

2022-07-18 13:11:33 +0000 UTCMy biggest expense right after assets is cloud storage. Bite the bullet and pay those 10 bucks per month to Google or Dropbox to double stock all your stuff in the cloud. It saved me more times than I like.
