Bonus Panels 88-93

Very late, but here are the bonus panels for comics 89-93(numbering via webtoons)! It's been two or three months since I drew some of these, but I'll try to add some insight from what I remember while working on these!

88 - Silence
This comic is a sentiment that's really personal to me! I have a lot of memories from high school of wanting to support friends, but not knowing what to say, so I'd just sit there with them as crowds of people passed by. I'd like to think they hold those thoughts close to their hearts as well. There's a couple of cameos in the fourth panel too! I snuck in some people from my stream chat, but you can also spot the badger from comic 83 and Lamar from the waiter staff! Fun fact also, I modeled the background of panel four after the Pasadena Convention Center when I went last year for Lightbox Expo!

89 - Father's
Cliff is back baby! This is probably the most meta comic I've made. Whenever I post a comic with Eddie's Uncle, people in the comments and replies tend to thirst after him a staggering amount, so his comment on people flirting with him was a tongue in cheek way to respond to that (not to mention I just think the idea is kinda funny). I'm really fond of the colors on this comic too, I really like how Eddie looks in warm green.

90 - Babe
This comic is almost word for word a conversation my boyfriend and I had when we first started dating. He was really into very forward and pushy dudes at the time, so it was a little jarring when he started dating me, who was extremely shy and gentle. I have a tendency toward like traditional simple pet names like "darling" and "love," (that's where Eddie gets it from!) so when he asked me to call him "babe" one day, it totally clashed with how I talk. Every now and again I'll jump scare him by randomly calling him babe just to keep him on his toes. Also, the bonus art for this comic is really cute, I think Duncan kind of rocks the sunglasses.

91 - Proud
Another comic taken almost word for word out of a conversation me and my boyfriend had! I grew up in a pretty conservative household and felt a ton of guilt and shame over being gay. I remember so clearly as a kid wishing so badly I was born straight so I wouldn't have to deal with everything that came with being gay. During one very emotional night while talking with my partner, it had dawned on me how wonderfully comfortable he made me feel, and I said through tears this exact quote. I don't know if he remembers it, but it's one of the moments in our relationship I cherish the most.
Originally, Eddie was the one who said "You make me proud to be gay," but I thought it'd hit harder if it was something Duncan said sort of nonchalantly and a sentiment Eddie hesitantly echoed a lot heavier. Also I accidentally dug myself into a hole because in the comic he explicitly states that he's gay, but outside of the comic I've officially stated he's bisexual and drawn him holding bi flags, so ever since then I've avoided Eddie directly saying he's gay. (I have a plan to fix it eventually)

92 - Flower
I think this comic is technically the comic that took the longest for me to complete, since I took a two month break between starting and finishing it. Kip and Mason comics tend to follow a pretty beat for beat structure (Mason does something cute and Kip gets flustered), so I wanted to try and show a greater range of their personality. I thought this interaction was so small and little, but so cute. This is by far my favorite comic so far in terms of aesthetics. Also, Mason is in a dress!! People tend to use he/him for Mason (which is totally fine!), but I wanted to show a more feminine side of them. Also it's good practice for me since I'm pretty unfamiliar with fem clothing. You can also see Kip's binder peeking through their tank top.

93 - Photos
I struggled so much with the colors for this comic. In all honesty, I'm still not very happy with what I landed with, since the contrast on the shadows is really heavy and Duncan steals a bit of the focus because he's so much darker compared to Eddie, but it's readable and that's good enough for me. I think I went through like 8 different color passes for this, whereas for most comics I'll usually just stick with the first palette that comes to mind. Fun fact! The car they're standing in front of is the same car that Duncan drives in True Color from 2 years back! Time flies!!

Oh man, that was a lot of text! If you've read this far, then thank you for being interested! I'm not sure how much people care about these little comic insights, but I enjoy writing them so I'll keep em coming! Thank you guys as always for being so so patient! I'm currently working on getting the Q&A from a few months back finished alongside my short film and classwork. More Patreon updates are coming soon!! <333

It's a bit! The hat was given to him under the pretense that it was a hat for straight people getting hit on by gay men, but in actuality it's a hat for lesbians since it's in a pride collection I don't know how clear that ended up being haha, I was getting pretty tired when I was drawing these

Chervil

So fantastic Chervil. Why is Uncle Cliff confused at the hat's origins though, or is he shopping for Eddie again?

Paleo

I love them =)
