Wiggle Wiggle Izumi Version and Some Future Plans

Ok, this is one of those dance motions I kinda liked but it was also a bit broken, legs that go through each other, broken fingers and center bone movement that made no sense at the time, now I can just guess that this animation was ripped and ported to mmd and given the usual position for the center bone in MMD’s rig well it was all that could be done, well, now that Izumi has her center and groove bone in her center of mass I could re-target that animation to work as it was intended, I hope, and the movement makes sense now, I fixed the movement of the legs, and well finger animation is important, but not that important, for some reason the finger had a ton of key frames even thought there was not much movement of focus on it, so I reduced the amount of key frames for the fingers and while at it I also fixed the crookedness issue they had, I also took added frames for twist bones and reduced arm twisting so there is a bunch of new key frames for that, as a result the vmd file had a reduction in size due to all the key frames I removed, from the original 33MB to 19MB, so this file should work better and be easier to load.

All this was done as and exercise for stuff I’ve been learning for Blender, some of it was about re-targeting, baking animation, rotation modes from Quaternion to Euler and how it affects exporting animations to MMD, some of this was also used in the pole dance animation, smoothing and decimating frames, quite a bit of stuff, so I have decided to move my animation process to Blender gradually, at first I will still do my posing in MMM, then smoothing in Blender, later some animations will be entirely done in Blender and sometime next year I will make a Blender rig for Izumi and have a dedicated Blender version, for this I need to study the 2 rigging add-ons for Blender I now, “Rigify” and “Auto rig pro”, I want to see what can they do and work on a rig for Izumi and make better animations, the end result would still be an animation for MMD but there would an option to also render the animations in Blender if I wish to do so.

Speaking of Blender, there is some stuff about it that I want to implement for my campaign but I will make a separate post about that.
