Knowing the shapes of muscles is essential to draw good anatomy, but it can be quite a pain in the ass sometime. For me, it's easier to find the logic of muscle after knowing which piece is stacked on which other piece.
As shown above, the blue lines shows which side is on top. Those edges of muscle on top usually make an oval line, covering the layer below. Try drawing anatomy with that in mind and see if it helps you~
