September Mod Status Update
Added 2024-09-30 17:01:33 +0000 UTCHi All,
Sorry for the delay. I'd love to say it was something more exciting than real life being incredibly busy but I'm sorry, professor, I must not tell lies! My mods should be fine for the patch with the exceptions that were updated below but if you have an issue with one not listed below you can go to Discord. I have a new public mod release as well as as a new early access mod.
I am still working on the Divergent Sims update but it is taking much longer than expected due to both my life and also to brick walls I keep running into in the process. I will try to have it done by October but if not hopefully November. Autonomy in the Sims 4 is a painfully frustrating thing to get right for a smooth and consistent experience, unfortunately.
And just a reminder that if you're having trouble with the download links, try a different browser to see if that helps. If you get caught in a loop trying to download, you're not reading patreon beyond the mod titles and you need to - downloads all say download here so if you don't see it, you haven't read far enough, yet!
Public Updates
Connected Sims v1.8.5- Updated for minor tweaks and patch changes.
Healthcare Redux v9.7.6 - Updated for minor tweaks and patch changes.
Patron Updates
Healthcare Redux v10.7 - Updated for minor tweaks, patch changes, and some significant changes to cancer appointments and how they work. This should allow for a much smoother diagnosis and treatment process than before. I think I've got the kinks worked out but let me know if something weird still happens even after you reset via the Actions menu.
New Mods
New Early Access Mod
Sapphire/Violet Now
Midnight/Azure on 10/7
This mod adds a randomized probability your sims could experience a sudden, life-ending, tragic event adding death variety and unpredictability to your sim's lives. These range things like carbon monoxide poisoning, strokes, fatal accidents on dangerous job shifts, environmental disaster during bad weather, and more. They can occur randomly but most occur in situations where it would realistically make sense (overweight sims are more likely to experience a stroke, for instance).
Some of these types of deaths are included in other mods of mine (for instance choking is in Healthcare Redux) but unlike those other mods, at present (there potentially could be in future), there's no gameplay from them happening to your sims (no doctor or hospital visit, etc). If you have HCR installed it will take precedence over any duplicate deaths available in this mod to enable the gameplay available from it.
The events in this mod are sudden, random tragic deaths that add a bit of danger and precariousness to your sim's existence and life choices. These deaths can affect sims from infant to elder, depending on the event, and in the case of car and plane crashes affect multiple sims in your household if traveling together. Requires Lot51's Core Library.
New Public Release Mod
Better Daycare v1.2
If you had the early access version, please update to fix a typo in the code syntax that would cause an error!
This mod does a few things:
The mod adds a new elective daycare (available by clicking on the baby/infant/toddler) where your sims can to elect to send small sims to daycare even when they are on the lot (for babies if older sims go off lot they will be sent to regular daycare, for infants and toddlers they may stay in the elected daycare or be forced into game daycare or even come home). Daycare lasts until you manually get babies from daycare by clicking on the crib and 8 hours for infants and toddlers but you can bring them home sooner by exiting out of the daycare interaction.
Elective daycare and the game's normal daycare (only triggers when baby-infant sims are left alone on the lot) will now increase your sim's basic needs each time they go, not only when they are bottoming out.
Both daycares (game and elective) have the option to teach your sim's some skills and character values for toddlers and increase progress towards developmental milestones for infants. This will not happen if you keep the package titled Remove Skill Gains. If you want to skill gains to happen, delete the package titled Remove Skill Gains.
Both daycare options (game and elective) will cost $100 IF you keep the package titled "Add Daycare Fees". If you remove that package, both daycare options will be free.
General Pie Menus, Shared Library, Shared Tuning, and Mood Pack
These dependencies are essential to the smooth installation of the vast majority of my mods. My mods are literally dependent on them being installed. When in doubt, redownload them and make sure you have the most recent versions, you don't have duplicates, and you actually have them installed. If you can't click on your sims, are missing menu options, or can't find something that should be where I said it is, or your buffs looks strange, chances are you are missing, have installed incorrectly, or have outdated versions of one or more of these mods so when in doubt, go install them because 9/10 they are needed for my mods.
I've also seen a surprising number of people install Healthy Living but forget Panda's included meshes or install my mods only the scripts without the packages - all files in the zip are, in fact, required unless they specifically state they are a module, addon, pack-specific, or optional!
