May Updates and Mod Status

Hi All,

I've been a very busy bee this month (both at home and at work) so this will be a quick drop in. My mods should be fine with the latest patch but I do have a couple small updates, two new public mods (Sports Bracket Pool and Beauty Bar Small Business), and two new early access mod (Equestrian Center Expansion and Youth Equestrian Club). Youth Sports After School Activities is also in early access.

I've been working on some updates to allow you to open a self-employed Therapist small business for Divergent Sims and private doctor's office small business for Healthcare Redux, a refresh/expansion/introduction of some active elements of my Summer Camps mod to kick off our Sims' summer season, and a new career mod tying into the Restoration Workshop Kit.

We'll see how my month goes and which one of these three I can finish up before the end of May, though I am hoping for all three, but those are my current plans/works in progress. I also have a poll for my patrons to help me with prioritizing and new mods so look out for that.

FYI, I will not be available from late next Wednesday to the following Wednesday (7th-14th).

These mods have received updates.

Healthcare Redux (Public) v9.8.8 - Minor fixes.

Healthcare Redux (Patreon) v10.8.8 - Minor fixes and updates.

International Relations v3.4 - Updated for the new languages from Language Barriers and to change how the language mastery is tested. Remember this mod requires Language Barriers.

SimNation Travel v6.8.8 - Updated for the new languages from Language Barriers to the Seasoned Traveler Aspiration.

New Mods

Sports Bracket Pool Holiday Tradition v1

I made a new custom holiday tradition. Sims can via the phone under Entertainment or on the Computer under Web Enter into a Sports Bracket Pool ($25). They have a chance to win 70 percent of the pool, be the runner up and get 30 percent of the pool, or come in last place and get their entry fee back, or get nothing. I suggest pairing it with Watch Sports TV and Drinking for a custom sports holiday.

Requires Lot's Core Library.

Beauty Bar Small Business v1

This mod was inspired by watching a sims content creator trying to create a beauty salon with the new pack only for none of the features to support it nor the functionality to make it so that its an actual business with sims autonomously behaving as they should. So I made this. What this adds is a variety of club and small business activities pertaining to running a full service beauty bar as well as the mechanics for your sims to autonomously offer, choose, request, and participate in those activities/services while in clubs or small businesses. You can choose individual beauty and personal care services to offer or bundle them into specific collections of activities so not to clog up the 5 slots.

Requires Lot's Core Library. Make sure it is Updated!

Club Activities

Added the following club activities:

• Get Manicures - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. Sims will be encouraged to get manicures.

• Get Pedicures - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. Sims will be encouraged to get pedicures.

• Get Nails Done - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. Sims will be encouraged to get pedicures and manicures.

• Get Hand or Foot Massages - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. Sims will be encouraged to get hand and foot massages.

• Get Body Massages - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. Sims will be encouraged to get body massages from massage tables.

• Get Pampering Services - This encourages customers to get hand and/or foot massages and/or nail services.

• Get Grooming Services - This encourages customers to get their nails and/or hair done.

• Get Hair Styled - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. This encourages Sims to get their hair done.

• Get Makeup Done - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. This encourages Sims to get their makeup done.

• Get Hair or Makeup Done - This is the same as the club activity enabled for customers. This encourages Sims to get their makeup and/or hair done.

• Get Beauty Bar Services - This encourages customers to get their hair and nails and makeup done and body, foot, and hand massages.

Added the following small business activities for employees and owner:

• Tend Massage Table - This is different from the EA "Give Massages" activity (which only worked for sims with a certain wellness skill making it useless unless your employees had high wellness skills) and is only available for small businesses. Employees and the owner will tend the Massage Table and offer playable and nnonplayable sims body massages and sims will autonomously approach them for body massages.

• Tend Stylist Station (Hair) - This is a completely separate activity from the club activity. Employees and the owner will tend the Stylist station and offer hair styling and sims will autonomously approach them for hair styling.

• Tend Stylist Station (Makeup) - This is a completely separate activity from the club activity. Employees and the owner will tend the Stylist station and offer hair styling to customers and npc customers will autonomously approach them for hair styling.

• Tend Stylist Station- Employees and the owner will tend the Stylist station and offer hair and makeup styling and offer hair styling and npc customers will autonomously approach them for hair and makeup.

• Tend Massage Chair (Massages) - Employees and the owner will tend the Massage Chair and offer hand and foot massages to customers and npc customers will autonomously approach them for hand and foot massages.

• Tend Massage Chair (Nails Services)- Employees and the owner will tend the Massage Chair and offer manicures and pedicures to customers and npc customers will autonomously approach them for manicures and pedicures.

• Tend Massage Chair - Employees and the owner will tend the Massage Chair and offer manicures, pedicures, foot and hand massages to customers and npc customers will autonomously approach them for manicures and pedicures as well as foot and hand massages.

• Offer Grooming Services - Employees and the owner will tend the Massage Chair or Styling Station and offer manicures and pedicures and hair styling to customers and npc customers will autonomously approach them for manicures and pedicures and hair styling.

Early Access Mods

Equestrian Center Expansion v1

Sapphire/Violet Release: Today
Midnight/Azure Release: May 8th

This is a mod that deals with all things equestrian. I think it's silly we have this giant Equestrian Center shell and can only do a small handful of things and one of those things isn't even to borrow a horse; you can only really ride horses if you own them. And some things we were able to do in Sims 3 we can't do at the equestrian center in Sims 4 which I thought was odd. So I added new and some old activities to the Equestrian Center.

New Activities at Equestrian Center 

Take Riding Lessons - For a fee, you can bring your own horse or borrow a horse from the center. Sims will gain riding and motor/fitness skill and horses will gain horse skills. Lessons last about 90-120 minutes.

Practice Ride - You can borrow a horse from the center, for a fee, for up to 3 hours to practice your riding and interact with a horse. You must not currently own a horse for this option to appear. The horse should automatically return to the Equestrian Center after 3 hours or after 7pm when the Equestrian Center closes.

Lease Horse - You can borrow a horse from the center, for a fee, for up to 10 hours to practice your riding and interact with a horse. You must not currently own a horse for this option to appear. The horse should automatically return to the Equestrian Center after 10 hours or after 7pm when the Equestrian Center closes.

Board Horse - You can board your horse overnight starting at 5pm before the center closes. They will leave the center when it opens at 7am the next day.

Breed Mare - This is back from the Sims 3. You can take your female horse to breed, for a fee, but there's no guarantees it'll work.

Offer Stallion for Stud - This is back from the Sims 3. You can take your male horse to stud and be paid for the service.

Go to the Racetrack - You can do this alone or with others present. You can take a bet on a horse, if you'd like.

Go to the Rodeo - You can do this alone or with others present.

Use the Bathroom - This was a need during my testing. I don't know why it wasn't an original interaction instead of making sims walk all the way to a different shell.

Eat at the Snack Bar - This lets sims deal with their hunger.

Youth Equestrian Club

Sapphire/Violet Release: May 15th
Midnight/Azure Release: May 22nd

While expanding options at the Equestrian Center, I realized there's no after school activity related to horses or horseback riding in the game. So this is an attempt to rectify that and further utilize the Equestrian Center.

New After School Activity

The Youth Equestrian Club is available to children and teens. It takes place after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Club members learn multiple skills and character values including the riding skill. Sims have unique options available while attending the club to learn about caring for horses, riding, stable chores, and more. Sims can, in the upper levels, compete in Junior Horse Shows at the Equestrian Center and invite family members to see them compete. Will they place or will they be disappointed? They will notice if family members attend their horse show or not. Entrants can use their own horses to compete or borrow an Equestrian Club stable horse. The Horse Shows are available every 1-2 weeks once they've been promoted. Cash prizes are available for those who place.

Youth League Afterschool Sports v1.2

Currently Available to all Early Access Patron Tiers.

This mod adds a new Youth Sports League After School Activity. This is available for teens and children. The first level is orientation after which sims will need to choose between basketball, football, and soccer.

Sims have sports games every Friday, with the exception being that if they haven't had a practice yet (i.e. they join on or after Wednesday but before Friday) their first game is a scrimmage that doesn't count towards total games, and after 5 regular season games can get an opportunity to compete in a playoff and then a championship games depending on how well their sports team does. They must win at least 2 regular season games to move on to the playoffs though it's not guaranteed and the chances are better the more games they win. The playoff game is single elimination. Otherwise their season starts over if they lose the playoff game or the championship game is played.

While practicing and during games, depending what options your sim chooses while at practice or games (the options differ based on practice/game days), there is a chance that your sim could get a sports injury or penalties. Injuries and ejections during games will end the game. These sports injuries can be treated via Healthcare Redux (Patreon version). Children will work on increasing their motor skill and Teens will work on increasing their fitness skill.
