August Mod Status and Updates

Update: Please make sure to redownload Education Overhaul and make sure it's v5.9.6. I apparently didn't actually overwrite the files but they are correct now. Sorry about that!

Hello All!

So sorry for the delay. I have not been able to have focused time just doing the updates and the new features for large chunks of time and just had to take little bits of time here and there over the last week to get it done. My apologies; I know how many of you were waiting for the mods, especially Healthcare Redux, to be fixed. I just have a lot going on as usual. I was trying to put out everything together but that's just now happening unless I was willing to make you wait even longer and I wasn't going to do that!

The bad news was that some of my oldest mods used old script methods and since they still worked I never went back to utilize the newer, better method that I use in my more recent mods until, well, during a Kit Patch no less, EA made me. So good news is that my mods should work better now as far as the scripts go. Even if nothing happened to your game or you didn't get anything weird, please still update the files just in case. The rest of my mods should be just fine.

Both public and patreon versions of Divergent Sims, Healthcare Redux, and the early access version of Summer Camps received updates so if you use the versions please update them.

Education Overhaul - Active Field Trip

Early Access:

Midnight/Violet - August 31st

Sapphire/Azure - September 8th

There are now 5 new Field Trip options in addition to the 6 rabbithole options your sim's can potentially have as a field trip during school.

New options include: Museum, Beach, Pool, Arts Center, and Park.

If you don't have the corresponding packs (City Living for Arts Center, for example), the venues are not placed in any worlds, or the weather is not favorable, specific field trips related to those venues will not be picked.

At the Museum they'll focus on history, sculpture, and woodworking/clay molding. At the Arts Center, they'll focus on art, paintings, and painting/drawing. At the Pool they'll learn water safety and have a supervised pool day with a focus on swimming. At the Beach they'll learn about conservation, beach cleanup, and focus on beachcombing and beach activities. At the Park, they'll learn about plants and rocks, collect items, and focus on learning about nature and even engage in some chess.

The field trip will start like rabbithole field trips with a notification on the day of the field trip that it's going to take place that morning and then another notification when it's time to go. Once it is time to go, your sim will need to choose an option from the appropriate venue. So if the field trip is to the Arts Center, your sim will have to choose which Arts Center if there's more than one in your game. If there's only a single venue in your entire game then your sim will go directly to that venue without any player input.

Once at the venue, your sim will be joined by a Teacher Chaperone and 5-10 classmates. The event itself will guide your sim in activities for the field trip. The field trip lasts for a school day (6 hours). The main goal of the field trip is for your sim to hear the field trip lesson from their teacher and engage in activities adjacent to that lesson. The teacher should automatically start the lesson, but should they not, your sim is able to ask the teacher to begin the lesson. When the lesson is complete, both the teacher and the students will engage in appropriate learning and mentoring/teaching activities related to the venue they're at.
