Shade of Umbral

Last week I teased Shayda (with a new and proper look).

So, who is Shayda?
For those who don't remember (Spoilers to v13 content here)

Shayda is the witch Anathea approaches for her love incantation. This was seen in Erin's Zeight scene.

In v14, she resides in the Aevium Development Center in Kugearen City. If you are on your first save file, she will give you a vision that pushes you into investigating the abandoned shack (which involves finding that key in the woods).

...However, if you are on a NG+ file that has completed content up to v14, something new happens!

She recognizes that you are "different", and senses that you have been doused in "Umbral Energy".

She puts you on a quest to gather Umbral Shards.

What are Umbral Shards? They are physical manifestations of the aura you see above.
(Basically, crystalizing it and turning it into a solid.)

How do you get Umbral Shards?

Basically, Shayda will appear before all major boss battles in the past and greatly enhance their strength. This is a way for older players to get fresher content on their second way around. These boss battles are designed to be extremely difficult.

These bosses are (for right now)
Shiftry Gang
Gardevoir
Karrina
Deoxys
Heracross
Vivian
Regirock
Ace (The Strongest Boss Here)

Bosses I'm considering:
Puppet Coin secret boss
Rift Gardevoir
Double battle in Vivian's house
(?? others i cant think of right now)

You can trade these shards with Shayda (BEFORE v14 content) for early trade items, and the sort. Obviously though, these shards are limited, so you will have to pick and choose your reward carefully.

If you decide to hold all your shards at the end of Hiyoshi City's storyline, you may be given even greater treasures...

But overall, that's pretty much it. While there are cool rewards; this is mostly just another "fun" thing you can activate on subsequent playthroughs. You can also learn more about you the more shards you get as well. What is she doing in Kugearen? Where does she normally reside? What is her craft? All shall be answered!

I'll have another post for you all the week after this week. Since this week, ngl, ill probably want to wind down and play the new legends game lol.
