TAURUS Sketches

(Hahaha, some SO OLD that I don’t even feel encouraged to put here, as they really date from YEARS ago haha)
As in Aries, the original idea was for man to present some characteristics of the Sign animal (in this case, the Horns and a Taurus Tail), but as I mentioned earlier, this idea was discarded ... even because, I ended up more interested in the idea of channeling the essence of signs, in the characters' posture and gestures, much more than in other artifices...
Since early, When I thought of Taurus, I imagined a Great Man, but Gentle... a person with contact with the earth and nature ... a Maori Man always came to mind. Brown skin, long dark and curly hair.
(by the way, the idea is to explore different ethnicities in the course of this project).
While the Aries pose suggests a movement to stand up and be prepared to act... Taurus positions himself with all limbs on the ground... for It's a fixed sign...
But as a Son of Venus ... it is also a sign inclined to delights and pleasures...

Part of the intent around Taurus is also to deconstruct the stereotype that big, robust men are always "Tops", or even ultra-masculine. But part is also one of the expressions about the influence of Venus (Taurus' Birth Star) which is (also) receiving. In Sex, while Mars would be the impulse to Seek/Enter/Accomplish, Venus would be about Providing/Receiving/Developing. Then... I thought it would be an interesting way to explore both concepts (both Venus and the Deconstruction of Pre-concepts) in the same image! Oh, and I’m Tri Feliz that you’re enjoying it, and yes, I can’t wait to perform Pisces too!!! Big Hugs to you!

The idea is to explore multiple ethnicities because our species is very varied in lineages, and I think that (this) should be expressed in this Artwork, since part of the proposal is precisely to talk about different archetypes of human personality :) Bah, I am immensely pleased to know that even my sketches please you in different ways ;) Thanks So Much

Agree with you that obvious signs can be discarded for the essence appears, although your minotaure was very sexy. Was it on purpose to use a more “bottom” gesture in an animal so bound to virility concepts? It’s to shake old concepts of sexual roles being something fixed?
