SCORPIO Sketches

And here I'll share with you the sketches I made for the Scorpio art of the COSMOS Project.

It has been a little more than a month since I worked this project…
After all, the month of October took up all my time and used all my energy.
(Heheh I confess that I had to get a few days without illustrating because, I was simply unable…)

But finally, we come to the Scorpio period!

A sign of emotional depth, mysteries, sensuality and sexual power, as well as an intense connection with what is hidden...

Since the first sketch, I have an idea about Scorpio's position... that of keeping the belly region hidden.
As most animals protect this region against any invaders and/or predators, I found it a very symbolic gesture to attribute to the sign, since Scorpio is extremely resigned as to his feelings, plans, ideas, as well as being one of the first signs to put himself suspicious before new figures or strangers…

However, once they get involved lovingly with someone, more than saying "I love you", Scorpio prefers to show all that love... and one of the most explicit ways for Scorpio to show that feeling, is through Sex.

The Pelvic Region and the Sex are the body areas rulled by Scorpio, who eagerly opens up to his beloved...

Because of that, I ended up choosing to change the original pose I had planned, and allow Scorpio to generously show his region of power.

At the same time, I create an interesting parallel with Taurus, which is precisely the sign in the occult of Scorpio (Taurus teaches for Scorpio, and Scorpio teaches for Taurus)... both look at different horizons, and yet they have some similar bases…

In addition, the final posture also plays with the silhouette of an arched tail (the raised leg) and the claws (the position of the fingers) of a Scorpion.

I also thought about the possibility of representing a guy with vitiligo here.
Both to endorse diversity and representativeness, as well as to suggest the naturalness with which Scorpio sees and / or thinks about existence and the beyond, what is seen and what is not, what is in the light and what is in the shade...
