WITCH SEASON - 01 MYSTICAE - Sketches

October begins, just like our Witch Season! ✨
And as you know, I LOVE this time of year!
So to celebrate it, I'm going to do some themed art of course! hehehe

For this year, I thought a lot about an expression that I really like: the Witching Hour.
So I thought I'd play a little bit about the hours ongoing to Halloween.

When I thought about the clock theme, I couldn't resist thinking about stained glass windows... and when I found myself, I was already fascinated by the idea of using the aesthetic of stained glass window for each scene in this series with my Witch Boys.

The first art in our series will be Mysticae, approaching the mystical essence of the Witches.
For this, in addition to the purple palette that I have already made as a Mysticae signature, I wanted to bring to the illustration, some signs that reflect these mysticisms... crystal ball, candles, a cauldron, as well as the Moon itself with its 3 visible phases (waxing and waning in the header, and full moon on the clock face).

The idea of putting the waning phase with a mask both symbolizes a coming to the occult of the new moon, and also plays with the idea of the moon getting ready for the Halloween masquerade party!
As I love symbology, I can't resist putting secret details in my arts hehehe
Although they almost always go unnoticed!

I'm already immensely excited about this Halloween series, and I must tell you... WOW, the work that goes into illustrating this Stained Glass! A LOT of Effort!
