Update 7/1/2022

Happy wrath month!

Over the last month:

-3 stream commissions

-1 ref sheet commission

-new patron prompt which is honestly my favorite so far but i think this month will top it

-Worked a little on Sinwater Characters(a backburner project)

-Worked a little on Bananas and Coconuts

-If you're a backstage patron the prompt sketch for July is already up on the discord(not here cause its too spicy)

Plans for July:

-finish another ref sheet commission

-new patron prompt, this ones a comic page

-whatever stream commissions I can squeeze in before going to visit family

Personal stuff:

I'm going to take a break from the Bananas and Coconuts comic. B&C is a case of me finishing a difficult task (FST) and then feeling like I can jump right into the next one with added difficulty. No one asked me to make that comic and while I enjoyed it for the first few weeks I feel like I'm disappointing people by not working on FST2. It's half finished and I'd be a fool not to finish it eventually but I want to enjoy doing so.

I worry that FST2 itself will be disappointing to those that were expecting the proper continuation of a story. The pilot failed and the pages I want to make now are just crumbs of act 1. I tend to write comics around a "money shot" that should realistically be condensed to a single image or 1-page comic. My most popular comics are Quickies and I think its because my art and characters really shine in that format. I stopped working on Quickies because I felt they needed to be "consistent" with the graphic novel in my head. Thinking "oh I can't draw this pairing yet because I'm saving that for my 3rd 20 page comic" and honestly that's silly. I'll always have more ideas in the future for a graphic novel when I have the finances and consistency to do so. I don't want that to hold me back from making great comics NOW.

Taking prompts has freed me from holding back my characters potential! Prompts allow me to experiment and try new things. They CAN be comic pages but they don't have to be. I feel like every prompt has actively improved my art and I want to make as many as I can.

TL;DR I'll still make longer comics in the future. But, for now I'm having so much fun with prompts that I want to focus on ideas that are short, concise, and achievable(easier said than done). In the end I hope this shift will result in more varied and higher quality content for you guys to enjoy :3 Thanks so much for your support.
