New Plan for the Coming Months
Added 2020-04-28 20:13:39 +0000 UTCHey there, everyone! I hope you are keeping healthy and safe in these strange times.
I wanted to let you know that some changes will be happening with the YouTube channel and how I release videos. I also want to explain my reasoning behind the changes I'm making.
I will be releasing many videos exclusively to patrons in coming weeks or even months. These videos will eventually be made available to everyone through the YouTube channel, but you will be the only ones who can watch them for some time.
The reason for this is simple: YouTube ad revenue is horrible right now. For me, it is about 1/3rd of what it was 2 months ago. Though part of the reason I do YouTube is simply because I enjoy it, I am only able to spend so much time on it because I make some money on my videos. The decrease in ad revenue left me with three option: (1) release videos anyway but make far less money, (2) take sponsorships, or (3) wait and hope that ad revenue goes up a bit, all the while making videos but not releasing them to everyone.
I have decided not to go with the first option because the money I make is part of the reason why I'm able to spend so much time on this. If I made no money doing this, I would need to seek out other ways of getting money, and end up spending less time on video creation. However, I don't want to take sponsorships as the companies who have e-mailed me do not mesh well with my content and are not products or services I would use myself or feel comfortable endorsing. As such, I've decided to release many of my upcoming videos as Patreon exclusives until ad revenue goes up a bit. These videos will be available to anyone who pays 1 dollar or more per month.
I will likely release two videos in May as temporary Patreon exclusives. If the low ad rates continue into June, I will likely release two videos in June as temporary Patreon exclusives. If low ad rates continue past then, well, I may need to change my strategy, and I will update you accordingly.
Does this sound good with you?
Thank you again for your support. You're awesome.

I like the idea. Hope things pick up soon, but I'm glad we still get to see them
