How to Prepare for a Pokemon Tournament

Hey everyone, this month the winning topic was how to prepare for a tournament - there's a lot of information in this one, and I hope you all find it interesting. Thanks as always for the support, and I hope y'all enjoyed the Worlds video! Been working on Toronto for a few weeks but had to take a break to get caught up on other work, finished the intro + teambuilding sections (about 50% of the video) but need to do some heavy edits.

competitive programming in the Uni, to actual international level... and i cant win against a 12 y/o calling me slurs in showdown :sob: (for clarification, i am sorta responding to the section that wolfe talks about having past similar experience to a in person competition)

the damage calcs note is so helpful. that has kept me OUT of VGC thus far. lol

I think this may be one of the most useful pieces of information that you posted out here. I watched it twice, the second time taking notes, because I think it will really help me finding my own process if I structure my team building around a lot of the things you said here. From watching you over the last two years I could notice that we think alike about a lot of stuff, especially being hydrated (!!), so I think that implementing your tips into my prep work will help me bring out more of my potential during tournaments. I also want to add that thanks to something you said in an old patreon video, I learned how to enjoy my passion for VGC in a healthy way, without neglecting other aspects of my life, so I think its always the right time and the right space to remind everyone not to let Pokémon be the only thing in their lives! Thank you for the great content and hope you're in a better headspace by now.

You can always sub to the champion tier to get direct feedback to him via team submissions

So there was a reason behind the Hoenn region having so much water. Huh. This will defo come in handy for the locals coming up!

World champ difference? No, water champ difference.

Going to use these tips for San Antonio, much appreciated

I definitely appreciate the video. I think for us (maybe for you too) it would be beneficial to have some sort of powerpoint? Something that would help summarize key talking points, but also could serve as a visual aid for us as we watch along with your talking points

Any thought on a kyurem white blizzard spam team? I have an idea but need some more advice.

This is the content I’m glad to pay for. Great video and very informative. Also yes water is the most important thing at a tournament, one of the early signs of dehydration is confusion. Only your Pokémon should get confused, not you.

I want to qualify for the world championships and my only chance is the Sevilla special event and it is the first tournament I'll attend, so this info is really valuable. Thank you Wolfe for getting me into the competitive aspect of my favourite game <3.

At the end I think he was trying to say model UN

Wolfey Kyurem Black mention! It’s still not time let’s gooooo! Maybe one day lol A master post would be EXTREMELY helpful, sometimes I wanna suggest a topic but I take a look and see “oh we’ve already heard this topic”, but a master post would save a lot of time.

Sakuya

Going to San Antonio so this is going to be super helpful!
