January Patron-Submitted Video
Added 2025-01-21 18:59:38 +0000 UTCHey all! Here are the topics for January's video. As a reminder, Patrons in the Elite 4 and Champion Tier submit topics they'd like to see me make a video on. Congratulations to everyone who entered Liverpool last weekend, and good luck to those of you competing in San Antonio this weekend!
Also, some people submitted topics that I've already covered - remember to check past videos for topics you might be interested in!

Could we get note-taking offered as a bundle with another shorter topic as an option in next month's poll?

2025-01-25 18:01:27 +0000 UTCIt will be in reg I. We don’t know for sure what the format will be, but it’s extremely likely that it will be double restricted. They’ll probably announce the format in early April, and showdown ladder will be up long before Milwaukee

2025-01-23 12:16:01 +0000 UTCHow to analyze replays seems like a complicated topic, but it’s also prob an interesting one to look at too. Being able to say “ok yeah this was a mistake” is easy enough, but breaking down and figuring out why a mistake was made, what you can do to prevent a mistake, etc… allows things for a ton of interesting topics.

2025-01-22 00:19:23 +0000 UTCAll very nice topics, Wolfe. I find the tournament prep particularly interesting. If you do choose that topic, it would be great to hear how you prepare yourself(irl) & your setup for various tournaments—what supplies you bring, things you’ve realized you *don’t* need, food/snacks, things you find useful to do in between rounds etc. The little details many people overlook that can impact gameplay at an all-day event . Of course, discussing the actual Pokémon/team is definitely useful, too!

2025-01-21 23:54:41 +0000 UTCAgreed with the other poster that a ranked choice voting system would be so good. Personally, I think a speed control video will be super awesome because that is not a topic people have discussed. Like there’s so much nuance in tailwind and trick room and everything else right? I don’t know we gotta learn.

2025-01-21 23:25:32 +0000 UTCI would really need to learn about taking notes but since tier list and prep for tour. Have almost the same votes o rather go for the second one

2025-01-21 21:16:57 +0000 UTCWe need ranked choice voting on these because I would take literally any of these over ANOTHER tier lists and I think a lot of people feel the same lol

2025-01-21 21:05:01 +0000 UTCHonestly, I think tierlists aren't helpful at all -- at best you can create a tierlist for your match-ups depending on your restricted and teamstyle in order to prioritize practicing against higher threats. All the other topics are interesting and I think that adding note taking as a short intro (like you did on another one of these videos last year) would be great, assuming it's not too much of a hassle of course.

2025-01-21 21:04:35 +0000 UTCPlease no tierlist those are everywhere 🥲 Can learn a lot more from the other ones imo

2025-01-21 20:56:37 +0000 UTCreally hoping how to prep for an event beats out the tier list lmao there's way too many of those everywhere

2025-01-21 20:49:55 +0000 UTCWhich ever one it is just add note taking in the back 🤭

2025-01-21 20:19:15 +0000 UTCWould love a detailed video on speed control, not from a beginner's standpoint but more about the dance between setting up your own vs. countering or blocking your opponent's tailwind/trick room mode, etc. I feel like this is a big weakness of mine as a player and I'd love Wolfe's thoughts on this and tips for playing a fast team into hard trick room, for example.

2025-01-21 19:41:34 +0000 UTCHoping tierlist doesn't win! I really would love to see prep for tourney or accounting opponent skill level!

2025-01-21 19:40:14 +0000 UTCI was always interested to see how you look at your past games and analyse them to get better

2025-01-21 19:32:32 +0000 UTCThe current regulation set for G is supposed to go through April 30th. Do we know what the next regulation set will be or when that information is typically released? Milwaukee regional is early May and it would be nice to know how to even consider starting to prepare in advance for a novice competitor.

2025-01-21 19:20:04 +0000 UTCSince I'm looking to go to my first tournament soon would love the how to prepare for a tournament video

2025-01-21 19:17:18 +0000 UTCWe don’t need another tier list, everything else is way more crucial to getting better. We should all know Calyice, Calyshadow, Zamazenta, Miraidon are the top. Kyorge and Groudon are off fraud watch and zacian is lock away in a cage can it can’t perform under pressure.

2025-01-21 19:08:01 +0000 UTCI'd love a guide to note taking but if it would be a short one maybe you can include it in another co-related video. I also feel that note taking in general is a very personal thing, but I can be wrong

2025-01-21 19:07:01 +0000 UTCthey’re all such good options 🥴 the indecision is real
