Taking on the Red Pill | Men's Rights Activism

The Men's Rights Movement often portrays itself as a counterbalance to Feminism, but setting aside the rivalry, are any of the issues they raise legitimate?

You really did your research on this piece. At least I hope you did. I know it would be an editing nightmare, but have you considered citing your sources when you are stating statistics/facts? Perhaps a text overlay for each source you are using at that time? I dunno, feels like a lot of work, but darn it man, you are the most objective information source I've come across. Keep up the great work!

It's actually a dog treat - as you probably know, ferret treats are few and far between. But they seem to digest it all okay and love them. It's the Ol'Roy Rawhide 3.5" Munchy Dumbbells - I got these at Walmart.

I just want to comment on the demonetizing of your latest posting of “The Red Pill”. I found to be an excellent subject that most journalist seem to dodge. It’s absolutely absurd that YT never gives a reason for demonetizing a video while at the same time only giving you so many chances before they literally shut you down. I understand them not wanting to get into a back-and-forth debate about how they think you’ve broken terms, but presenting some explanation about what YT considers inappropriate content would be better than nothing at all. How the heck do you keep from being a repeat offender if you have no inkling of what you’ve done to offend? More evidence that our First Amendment is looked upon as a joke. I thank you 💯 times over for your content that gyrates my gray matter when I need it most. Also.....Can you please tell me the name/brand of the treat your fert is enjoying at the end of the video? I would love to add it to the list of my ferts lickies and chewies

Your vid was, as always, on point and well delivered. The folks who crafted "The Red Pill" documentary are scary, mostly in a sad way, so long as they remain relatively ineffectual...

I usually scroll through them for the first few hours just to get a general feel for the response. This one is quite disheartening, ha.

I wonder, do you read the comment section under your videos after you post them? I was scrolling through the expected trash fire and marveling at some of the missed points and whining and wondering if reading and not launching into pointless bickering with the comment section was discouraging to you? I love your videos. I find you informative without feeling preachy or pulling for an obvious agenda. It's a very moderate approach and I think that stance it definitely reinforced by not slugging it out in the comments with every troll with a gmail account but that must be frustrating at times.

O and just wanted to take the opportunity I am writing here to say - Your Rock. I love what you are doing on YouTube and I am learning a lot

Never Mind

The topic of this video is interesting but i just want to say I have not hear of this movie until you mentioned it here (I am not from the USA ).

Never Mind

Every movement seems to start with extremists in the lead. Hopefully, as the movements mature, some of the more outlandish claims and demands take a back seat. I thought your points were well taken. I have a few male friends who were divorced and their bitterness over the experience is still palpable. As one who was divorced twice said: "Marry again? Never. If I ever think about it again, I will just find a woman who hates my guts and buy her a house, cause that's how it always ends up." Change takes time.

I wanted to like this more. In the past you've taken on issues and highlighted both their strengths and their weaknesses and I've always liked that. I'm not talking about false equivalency here, I'm referring to -- and I wish I could remember a good example video, but I can't -- where you say "Hey, look, this bit is absolutely valid... but this bit, taken to this ridiculous extreme, is not". Ok, you probably did say that in this video (here's where you post a clip of you saying it verbatim), but for some reason it felt more buried, I just didn't get the same sense this time. Perhaps it was the subject matter. Maybe a video "taking on" something is bound to be wholly one sided, particularly when it takes on something so easy to, well, take on. But my issue with doing that is -- particularly in the case of Red Pill/MRAs -- that finding counter arguments to that movement is trivial, so you're not really adding anything. It's more interesting to me when you talk about things that maybe most of your viewers don't know, or know too little about. Your Feminism video did that better IMHO.

I like Knowing Better in a fedora

Ian

You're gonna get some bad comments for saying that truck drivers are seen as the lowest of society

Ian

Yup, although I don't think MRAs would approve of its purpose.

The best part of that question is there absolutely is an International Men's Day.

Knowing Better

You touch on it with regards to the military, but it's also worth noting that many of the institutions for women were lobbied for by women in the first place and the movements grew due to persistence and insistence those issues were heard and dealt with; pink ribbon, women's shelters and so on. If you look at the Gay Pride movement this was initiated by gay people and again the movement expanded. Many of these movements then get support from people outside the community but the grass roots aspect is retained and maintained by those who suffer directly from the issue. My favourite whataboutism is "Why isn't there any International Mens Day" ........
