For me, doing that level of tasting the red pill is just so difficult, because of its inherent inanity and the powerful and obnoxious odor of mendacity. We as a species could be so much better; on the hopeful side, we're only a dozen millennia old as a civilization, so maybe there's a chance we survive this teething stage.
