Sky Whale Hunters Camp

Hey everyone! Today we bring another combo pack of a Battlemap + Animated and Illustrated character. The Whale Hunter Camp with the Whaler Animated Token and Illustration!
You can use this map also as a regular Bandits Camp map, but... look at that giant ballista! Who doesn't want to use that thing?

Building your encounters

This map is part of the same setting about Flying Whales. Even though all of these can be used without whales, here are some suggestions of all releases that are related:

Sky Whalers

Whale hunting has been pretty common over the last few centuries because of their meat, bones to make lightweight but sturdy tools and weapons, fat (blubber) to make candles and oil for lamps, teeth (baleen) to make baskets, ambergris for perfume and, the most coveted part, the spermaceti for cosmetics, textiles, and candles.

Flying whales have a lower bone density and less spermaceti than regular ocean whales, but they are much easier to hunt because of their predefined migration patterns and the fact that they are fairly easy to hit targets in the sky. That’s why it’s hard to see them in the wild and most of them are domesticated, mostly by the Accu.

Whaling is strictly prohibited in most of the world, but it’s such a profitable industry that it’s hard to stop. It’s easy for whale hunters to catch flying whales in empty land, where nobody can see you.

Whalers travel during sky whales migration season and search for suitable spots in the wild to build their camps. The perfect place is in these migration paths, in elevated terrain and in a hidden zone away from civilization. Once they build the camp, they just have to wait until whales arrive. A single giant ballista bolt is enough to take down the whale. Once the sky whale is on the ground, it's ready for harvesting, which will provide a lot of material to sell in the black market.
