Thinking about where it's all going
Added 2025-09-03 23:10:31 +0000 UTCHi,
Unfortunately, I once again had a deja vu effect, namely, once I had to quickly finish the ACT-2 project, because I felt that the interest in my game project was starting to wane, and I needed a new start, and in Act 3 I complicated many things compared to Act 2, wanting to do a lot better and more interesting things compared to my previous work, However, I cannot help but notice and point out that, in fact, during my work on Act-3, my monthly income was never even $300.
Someone might think that the base of my game is Second Life, and the cost of developing such a game should not be expensive. Well, this is fundamentally wrong thinking, Second Life itself is a rather expensive game, and if my friends did not often help me, I would have long ago worked in the minus, because renting a whole sim (and my village, the first 3 locations, take up almost a whole sim in area) costs about 200 dollars in month (depending on the prims, it can be cheaper, but also more expensive), and that's not even taking into account the purchase of accessories, avatars, and much more.
Yes, I remember that in the past I did work for a similar income on Patreon itself, when I made video projects, but at that time I was also paid by the sites where my videos were posted, and, in addition to that - I was also engaged in the promotion of my characters, and instead of paying huge money for artist commissions - I found a rather interesting alternative, which helped me make my characters more or less famous in the end, and I also managed to make money from it.
What am I promoting by working on the game? Krystal is not my character, I can't sell the game with it, and when the work on the game is finished, the income from working on this game will also end. In other words, everything I get in the process, minus all the costs, will be my income. I think it’s already clear to many here that if it were only about money, the project would have been cancelled long ago.
So I want to say in conclusion - first of all - I work for those who believed in me, I don't like to let people down, and if I said that I would finish a game project - I will try to do it. However, the lower the income is - the slower the work on the game will be, because performing any actions in the second life, for example, buying sex accessories with new positions or creating a new location - is far from free. Of course, sometimes I can cheat and use someone else's location (as I often did before when creating video projects), but if we are talking about a really high-quality product - everything needs to be bought, and sometimes even invite professional builders (because, unfortunately, I am not one of them in the game).
However, if you are generally happy with how everything is going, and that working on the game is primarily a hobby for me, because I have a main job with a much higher income, and delays do not upset you too much - we can continue to do everything at the same pace that is going on now, if my income continues to vary in similar ranges on Patreon, but If someone thinks that work on the game is going too slowly - this post is my explanation for this (and I'm not even talking about the sanctions and many other difficulties associated with the country where I live, and how difficult it is for me to draw a conclusion at times, not to mention how much I'm losing in all of this, not to mention that the laws in my country are increasingly tightening the screws in terms of adult content).
However, I don't want to end on a bad note, and I want to say that at my real job everything is more than fine, so no, I'm not starving or in urgent need of money - I can handle all my needs in full and also pay for the needs of my entire family without any major problems. Working on the game is more of a hobby, but I still hope that in the future I will see more positive feedback about my game, since sometimes I miss the times when I just made video projects, and got a lot of positive from it. But alas, that time has passed.
And again I ended on a bad note. Okay, never mind, I just wanted to speak out. If you want to say something back to me, you are welcome to comment or send me a private message. I promise to answer politely and not block anyone (honestly, honestly ^^)
Anyway - thanks for listening - I'm getting back to working on the game.
