Unfortunately, I have to speak again.

Hi,

I apologize for what I want to say below, but I'm fed up (yep, once again) :

I'll be honest, seeing a donation of about 217 per month is probably one of the lowest incomes I've seen on my Patreon in the last few years, and frankly, I'm a little tired of being one of the lowest paid game developers on this platform (especially considering all the risks I take doing what I do). What's also funny is that I've seen many times how even those developing something based on Second Life (like me), with fewer backers, have an income two or even three times higher than mine. It's not surprising that many other developers no longer take my work seriously; they simply wouldn't do something like this for that kind of income. And realizing that my friends are helping me with many things, like with the land in Second Life (which is not cheap at all), as well as with other avatars for the project - to be honest, realizing this - the picture seems even more gloomy in the end.

And you know, I'm even willing to bet that if I cancel the game, and someone else starts doing something similar to what I'm doing, their income will quickly grow to 1K+, and many will praise their work, while I will hardly be remembered with good words, and without thinking about what would have happened if they had donated more to me, and how this would have affected the quality of my work.

In general, something needs to be done about all of this. I've been marking time for almost 6 years (but only for the last 2 years I've been working exclusively on the game, after an extremely negative situation with my most popular page, which forced me to pause the production of regular videos not related to the game), although during this time I've made serious changes to the quality of my work, as well as greatly complicated the game code. At first, I was inclined to think that these are hard times and people are having money problems, but seeing how a new game about the legend of Krystal has appeared, and its developer is already receiving about 3K+ dollars (on Patreon + SubscribeStar) in month in the few months since his page's existence, something tells me that I have drawn the wrong conclusions.

And no, I'm not trying to criticize another developer's work; he's making a good product (though he's taking quite a risk, since virtually every scene in his game is built around the principle of r@pe, and frankly, Patreon doesn't seem to approve of that, but overall, it's none of my business).

It's just... This is not what I expected when I started working on the game. Yes, I understand that our expectations often do not correspond to reality, but still, everything said above really describes my state, why every time I start working on a game again I do not feel very inspired. So, something needs to be done about all of this, and I think I'll try to draw attention to this problem on my internet pages and I'll be upfront about how I'd like to get more value out of my work.

And no, I'm not canceling the project, but if things continue to go like this, I'll try to finish my game at a faster pace, removing some of the original ideas, which will affect the quality of the product (not for the better), but the game will still have a conclusion, however, with an extremely high probability, I will not continue the game project after this (future acts, etc).

-----

Anyway, I apologize again for what I said above, I got pretty burned out just finishing the game update, and just a couple of days ago I saw an income of about 270 dollars on my page, which was still a little higher than the average - it was a little nicer than what I saw now.

But, one way or another, from now on I will try to draw attention to this problem more directly on my other pages on the Internet, I hope this will have a positive effect.

Thank you for your attention.

P.S. It will take me a few days to clear out the junk on my computer and update all my archives, but then I will create a new post where I will describe what I plan to add in the future game update.
