For something more uplifting/positive, you could consider writing something about affirming a particular belief, or an attitude held by an individual. I'd be interested in more videos along the lines of the Pratchett one – not in the sense of tying it in to recent news stories, but in the sense of short videos about authors (or filmmakers or musicians or whatever) who you like/admire beyond just enjoying their work. Whether that means like, profiles or introductions or short analyses of a work by them, I don't know. That would be up to you.

A brief review of Adam Smith's "Wealth of Nations". The Right (at least here in the US) has long pointed to Adam Smith as a sort of founding father figure of a decidedly social darwinist view of the market, however if you actually read his work it is very much about regulating markets to make sure the market players, ie corps, do not rig the game in their favor, as Smith points out they are always trying to do. It is also about the dangers of allowing too much wealth to concentrate in the hands of the few, particularly banks.

One of the things I love that Hbomb does is balance out his 'x is terrible' videos with 'y is genius'. It's always interesting to hear why people love something, and one of the things I enjoy most in a good conversation, our serves as a good reminder that life is, you know, good and people have real reasons for getting out of bed that are valid, unique, and interesting.

I'll watch a film video essay thing all day every day so I'd be happy to see more of those. media crit is one of my comfort foods when it comes to YouTube. and while it probably doesn't fall under the "less depressing" banner, I do somewhat miss the videos examining some of the more bizarre far right YouTubers as I find those people endlessly fascinating. it's a format that's kind of outdated nowadays and most people making vids from the left have moved on but they were a good laugh back in the day.

I watched the stream where you and Jen played through FFVII a while back and it seemed clear that you have a lot you want to solidify in people’s minds about the anti-capitalist messaging present within the text. I think that messaging is clear too, but, I’ve seen plenty of liberal and conservative attempts at refutation of said messaging- maybe there’s something there? I ask because the video that I continually use to attract friends to your channel is the “doom outrage” one- and now a lot of those friends have since proceeded to watch everything else you’ve made. (I also love the Doom/fake outrage vid, but fwiw, personally, my *favorite* video is still the one about railway privatization! I reference it all the time!)
