Well trying to get Damon killed didn't make her any better than him to be honest. And seriously. she didn't consider the consequences if her plan failed?

Lie after lie after lie and so many omissions when he does tell her enough to keep her interested. Like Damon said "Oh. I doubt that." when she told him Stefan told her everything. Elena might be very annoying at times but she is not stupid. She knows that Damon is right. She will see more and more that the lines are blurred where both brothers are concerned and that Damon has never lied to her about Stefan but Stefan has only wanted her to see the bad in Damon. I love the road trip and that she was able to relax with Damon in a way she hasn't with Stefan. As for Bree, what did she think would happen to her if her plan to kill Damon was unsuccessful? He wasn't going to leave her around to try again. He'd be an idiot. He also would never forgive her for putting Elena at risk. While I understand that Lexi was her friend, does plotting to have Damon killed make her any better? Although it hasn't been stated, I had a thought that Damon may have given Elena his blood after the accident when he was checking for injuries. It would explain him wanting her with him so he could try to ensure she didn't die and come back in transition before his blood was out of her system. It would also explain her high tolerance for alcohol in the bar. One woman even told her she should be on the floor with what she had been drinking. Damon did something Stefan hasn't done for her. He let her have fun.

Sometimes Damon does things without thinking of the consequences of his actions and now Alaric is also a result of those actions that he took

2023-08-20 23:27:37 +0000 UTCAs I said, things are not what they seem to be. The show is telling you that the narrative good /bad brother is not a clear cut thing as it appear to be at all. Let's recap: Stefan heard the incident, saved Elena. And then because she is identical to Katherine, he basically stalked her for 4 months, learning everything about her, insert himself into her life, lie to her about everything, seduced her, started a relationship with her, lied about himself, then he was forced to tell her not because he voluntarelly confessed, but because Elena confronted him, he confessed and told her no more lie....instead slept with her before telling her about Katherine and that he knew about her more than she knew about herself. To use Damon's words "that is a bit creepy to me", And to deflect everything he was again forced to confessed, that he lie on so many things, he tell her "it doesn't matter because I love you" knowing that Elena is a very vulnerable state, she is very overwealmed about everything that has been reveil to her and that she would feel a dept of gratitude for Stefan saving her. What a master manipulator!! And we saw his skills with Sheila, how he knows extremelly well how to play his cards with people to get into their good grace, he is smoth operator to use a famous song title. Damon never lied to Elena, and by pushing the conversation about Katherine he was trying to warn Elena about his liar brother, and when he went to her house when he realise that Stefan finaly told her who he was, she told him " He told me everything" and Damon answered back "oh...I doubt about that" and he was right. Elena is a great people reader, she start to get to know the brothers, really, and we never saw her that much relax and playful with Stefan. Have we?
