Dean said 'did you and Paris kiss or was it like a stage thing?' I think that means that from the audience perspective, there was no space visible between their lips - the 'stage thing' meaning that it was stage directed to appear like a kiss to them. We see it from a different angle, where we can see the space. I do find Rory and Paris very shippable.
