Sexy Space Babes

I have a rough outline for Sexy Space Babes Four, but I find myself faced with a pondering of sorts.

Jason.

Do people want the continued story of Jason or would they prefer a new trilogy to have a new main character?

I have plans for either choice so it makes little difference to me. (Hell, I might do my own thing anyway :D )

I am curious as to what you all think though?

Edit: I misspelled 'protagonist' so that now has to annoy me forever more because I can't change it :P

Comments

please come back to this series. Its your flageship.

While I might be almost half a year late to chime in on this, I'll add my unreasonable angle to this anyway. I think that Jason's story should continue, but I'm not opposed to him no longer being the singular main character. For example, with the war continuing we could see his "peaceful" (like he'd ever be THAT lucky) life in The Periphery going on, with news reports of the goings on of the war told from the perspective of another (or a few other new) main character(s). That would allow for a bit more fleshing out of the universe without abandoning Jason's story and it's many, MANY loose ends. Then again, telling the rest of Jasons's story from the perspective of those loose ends, and other people near him in The Periphery would be another interesting approach. It would allow framing Jason and his motives from now on as unknown, maybe even mysterious, which would allow for fleshing him out better without needing to go into the excrutiating details of how to handle his personal growth. In short, I want you to put in twice the effort you were likely planning on and well over fives times the effort of what is reasonable.

I like where your head is at. What about this... Jason goes to The Periphery while the war is just starting, and since in Book 1 it was established that a lot of pirates and lawlessness goes on over there(i.e. noble girls go there to party only to be abducted by pirates and ransomed back to their moms). Once Jason arrives he unknowing joins a band of pirates, reforms them, and uses his knowledge of earth science and Shil'vati science (like in Book 2 with the mouse), to outfit a bunch of pirate ships with weapons and go to the battle field to help the Imperium. In this scenario the Imperium is losing the war and its his help that turns the tide of the war in the Imperium's favor. The nobles are pissed, The Princess is pissed, the people are celebrating him and in book 5 or 6 he goes back to earth and either finds a way to bring the rest of Earth into the fold peacefully or violently. What do you think?

So I finished reading the first trilogy last month in a massive binge... and I cannot believe for a second the Shil'vati or Human government will just let him go to some frontier world to live out his days. What with a massive new interstellar war about to start and all. So I voted for continuing his story. Although as others have noted maybe not have Jason be THE main character of the story but his legacy being a driving factor for a new caste of characters. His fear of being lynched when the returns could be a big upheaval moment on Earth and I'd be very interested in seeing play out politically and socially.

Blood Raven

I'd like more sect or even the airship one over more Jason got real sick of him just boning everything even the side story a fan wrote about secret ships built by humanity fighting the empress fleets had more plot than Jason's arc if u can call it that

The other comments are right. Jason's Journey isn't over yet. Besides, we still don't know what kind of life he'll lead once he enters The Periphery

seeing Tisi again would be great for sure, and its totally possible for him to run into her on the frontier.

Terran_Armor_core

Jason has a lot of loose ends to tie up. He needs to see Tisi and mend that fence, to face the princesses he burned and to live his life without military service coloring being human in the galaxy

I don't really see how Jason's story could end here. A Shil princess doesn't seem like the kind of person to easily accept being told no.
