Everything GREAT About: One Piece | Part 85 | Eps 546-551

Kinda sad we didnt get a win for Jimbei explaining how fishman karate works by messing with water directly. In the air around them and in peoples bodies. Finally explains why Jimbei's attacks have that cool affect on people since he was introduced in impel down when you thought it might be a devil fruit ability. But now we know it's a fishman fighting trait, which makes sense when you sea Jimbei grab hands full of water and doing his shoulder water throw thing. They can affect water directly and use it, that's so cool it should have gotten a win

No win for Luffy sleeping through most of the Flashback? He has done it every time someone tries to tell him 🤣 He doesn’t care about your backstory. He cares about who you are now.

Hey, I’ve always thought about this but never thought to ask until now.. but how exactly do you record/watch the episodes? Do you watch first, then write a script afterwards for all the wins? How do you remember all of them? Do you rewatch every episode? or Do you record while watching and pause to write every win? How many episodes do you watch at a time? I’m so fascinated

This was a cool arc in one piece.

1stly The pills are not made by the world government or the marines so why would they have those pills? The Tamatebako and its content was seen as an old national treasure to be guarded in the vault, their origins are unknown (but some speculate it to be created in the Void Century) 2ndly The pills negative effects and the box that had them are a reference to a real world legend/myth not whatever you said nor was their use played off as a joke 3rdly Using "Don Krieg level threats" as if that means something is silly. with that said, Hordy and his crew (even without the Energy Steroids) are in terms of power undeniably above all the enemies the Straw Hats encountered in East Blue (blame power creep if needed) It is however true that they feel very weak due to the power gap between them and the Straw Hats 4thly Vander Decken IX is without a doubt a creep but he wanted Shirahoshi for her power not really her appearance or her age, as in the One Piece Universe the Flying Dutchmen has been searching for Poseidon for basically 9 generations (so I would not really call it making a mockery of the Flying Dutchmen, but subverting expectations with the most likely cool Flying Dutchmen & its captain Vander Decken I being subverted with his poor descendant both in terms of character & power with Vander Decken IX)

I seriously dislike this arc. All the hatred stems solely from the antagonists of it. The best way to express why is to say that all these guys are trash. They are at best Don Krieg level threats in their natural capabilities do to the flaws they always had. Then Oda uses the single IRL element in the series that actually triggers me... not because of trauma or personal experience; but rather how Powders and Pills affect society and yet are treated as a joke by having conspiracies about governments targeting their own populace with those drugs... a joke by the way due to who and how its talked about; and not a reflection of the truth of the matter. But hey now its used as an F'N MAGUFFIN AT A SERIOUS POINT OF THE STORY. Probably not intentionally but Oda made a joke of how serious the issue is by presenting it as a joke. Yes he did present it as a joke; as he used the least threatening people that are not even worthy of the crew (based off final presentation); then tacked on the drugs as an afterthought never to be mentioned again in terms of say Vice Admirals or some other more serious force using it to try and peak their performance or something more meaningful. I mean the full crew got dealt with way to easily and only by acting like Bane does Hordy become a threat. oh yes very forgettable is Pedo Deken making a mockery of the Flying Dutchmen. Seriously they hit every wrong note. That being said, its still good enough to not call it the worst arc of anime I have seen or read. but the negative out weighs the positive for me.
