The Babysitter, Part 64
Added 2024-10-30 02:59:00 +0000 UTCAfter an embarrassing generous pour of the baby powder, Noelle finally pulled the diaper around me and made sure it was nice and tight before taping it up.
She wasn’t done there, however. Taking out a second diaper, continuing the trend of doubling the padding like she had done with all the pull-ups I had worn so far, she made short work of repeating the process. “There.” She stood up and washed her hands, while explaining the new progression she had in mind for me. “With this many daytime accidents, it’s best if you stay in diapers for the rest of the weekend. If you can keep them dry until Monday morning, we’ll talk.”
Was that when Miley’s parents were getting home? I had assumed Sunday evening. Either way, I wasn’t sure what to expect for that, or if Paige had thought that far ahead. If Noelle was supposed to stick around until Miley’s parents returned, that was never going to happen at this house. Would she just leave me with my sister at some point? That would be better than dealing with both of them, though I didn’t want to start thinking about how the rest of the summer with Paige would go after all of this.
Still, taking Noelle out of the equation would be best no matter how things played out. She was the intimidating one, as well as the one who had a system for keeping difficult girls from running off or stepping out of line. I’d rather test my luck with Paige, who was more impulsive than anything else.
As for the present, I had fallen from ‘pull-ups until tomorrow morning’ to ‘diapers all weekend.’ Thanks to Paige, keeping my padding dry for the rest of the day wasn’t enough; no matter what, I was going to be stuck in diapers for the entirety of Sunday, as well as two nights in a row when I wasn’t actually a bedwetter.
I also wasn’t trusted with the simplest of tasks, apparently. When I stood up, cheeks still rosy from the humiliation of going through a diaper change at my age, as well as how long it took Noelle to clean me up thanks to the damage the real Miley had done to the messy padding, Noelle felt the need to help me back into the childish skirt rather than letting me do so myself.
Noelle had the decency to stash her remaining supplies underneath the sink rather than on the counter, so no one would see clean diapers blatantly sitting out. Still, there was the unspoken implication that she was keeping them within reach in case I needed another change down here.
Leading me back towards the kitchen, she gestured towards my seat and the collection of summer assignments. Back to homework, which I hadn’t really started this time around thanks to recent developments. “You haven’t worked on any of your Math assignments, have you?” she asked.
Miley’s assignments. And, no. So far, I had touched on the other three subjects, all of which had plenty of worksheets left. Just because I had done these classes before didn’t mean I retained everything, plus it was highly unlikely I’d make a noticeable dent in the binder that was supposed to be an all-summer endeavor.
For now, the last thing I needed was to make waves. I simply sat back down at the kitchen table, internally cringing at how my attention was immediately brought to the thick padding between my thighs and between my backside and the chair, and turned to the first page of the Math tab.
While I still wasn’t enthusiastic about working on a middle school girl’s assignments, I didn’t mind the breather. Between my time at the park and everything with the girls upstairs, a quiet kitchen in clean underwear was the most I could ask for at the moment. It wasn’t exactly a ‘plan,’ though it was potentially the best option at this point. Rather than complicating things for myself, which had consistently happened when I involved Paige, I could just glue myself to this spot and work on homework all weekend. There was only so much more my bratty step-sister could do when Noelle was supervising me.
Of course, the current peace wouldn’t last forever. Just as I was settling into the math worksheet and refreshing myself on formulas I hadn’t used in years, Paige returned from the errand she had done for Noelle. She stepped into the kitchen with her usual smile that was somehow both friendly and subtly smug. “Diaper delivery!” she announced, as if it was as exciting as bringing home treats. To clarify that she wasn’t trying to embarrass me, as she was always putting on a show of being a good sister when Noelle was around, Paige added, “Don’t worry, everyone else is mid-game in my room.”
“Thanks, Paige,” Noelle said, “Do you mind unpacking those into Miley’s underwear drawer?”
“Not at all,” she replied, “Do you need help changing her, or anything like that?”
God, it would have been so much worse if Paige was there, either as a witness or a participant. Did she really think I had been sitting in the old diapers this whole time? Noelle might have been a lot, since I wasn’t acclimated to the kind of discipline Miley probably dealt with due to her attitude/behavior/etc., but she was still a responsible babysitter.
“No, she’s already in clean diapers,” Noelle informed her, “The cloth ones are for if she goes through the whole pack I bought earlier.”
Well, that explained why Paige had been sent to buy more diapers when Noelle already made a pharmacy stop on the way back from the park. The math problems in front of me were suddenly very interesting, as I didn’t want to see the amusement on Paige’s face as she was informed that my babysitter believed I had the potential to have that many accidents. It wasn’t as bad as it looked! And it wasn’t my fault!
Of course, Paige wasn’t going to let a potential opportunity pass her by. While it was still the topic of conversation, she said, “Well, let me know if you need a hand. Back before the whole angst thing, I used to change her whenever our parents weren’t around.”
‘No, you didn’t!’ Somehow, I managed to bite my tongue as Paige made up more diaper history. Contradicting her would just be perceived as a lie, plus I didn’t plan on using the diapers like that again. No accidents meant that whatever nonsense Paige was trying wouldn’t lead to anything. That, and Noelle had just done everything herself, and I couldn’t see how another set of hands was necessary.
“I’ll keep it in mind,” Noelle said, “But your parents are paying me to deal with her, so I won’t bother you unless I have to.”
Paige shrugged. “It’s no bother. Anyway, I’m going to head back upstairs. Sorry for the disruption. Oh! Before I go, is Miley going to be able to hang out with us later, or is she committed to her summer work?”
“Depends on how much she gets done,” Noelle replied, “Why do you ask?”
“We were thinking about playing some games outside in a bit,” Paige said, “Nothing too crazy. I bet Alyssa would set a good example for her, and it’s always fun when we can evenly divide the teams by ages. But no pressure! If she needs to focus on school, I totally get it.”
Yes. Focusing on school. Not dealing with Paige and the others.
Unfortunately, Noelle seemed to think differently. “Sure,” she said, “Can it wait an hour?”
