Would you all happen to have questions for the voices of fantasy?

Michael Kramer and Kate Reading will be swinging by the channel in a couple weeks! What would you like me to ask them??

If you could produce any book you have narrated as a play what would you pick?

Cody Sahs

How do they figure out accents? How much say does the author have? Do they draw upon real-life accents for specific characters? I'm interested to see what might serve as inspiration for their outstanding performances.

Ali DeMarinis

For Michael - Can you describe how you prepared to read that one epigraph from Words of Radiance that's just a sequence of numbers for a few minutes straight?

puhtahtoe

How much freedom do they have to choose the projects they take on? What non-fantasy books do they like to narrate? (I once stumbled upon Kate Redding reading a non fiction title, which was a lovely surprise.) How exciting—-congratulations on getting this interview Daniel!

Pressed Between the Pages (Heather)

I love the work these two do! The questions I had have already been asked so I just wanted to say I'm really looking forward to this.

Do you read the paragraph first in preparation of the tone of each sentence?? OR in general, How do you do that?? Also who are your favourite narrators?

Do you try to match up voices? Ie when kate has to do a male voice that Mike has done a whole perspective chapter as and vice versa I imagine doing voices for the same character is stressful!

When did you decide to sit down and make a pronunciation guide? How much direction have you historically been given on the pronunciation of names/places and accents for different characters?

That One Nerd Girl

Who were the hardest characters to narrate in The Wheel of Time?

1) Who are your favorite characters in fantasy? 2) What are your favorite stories of all time?
