Sound is good. Arm is not annoying. Comedy potential may exist for said arm.

Late to the party, but my .02: I didn't hear a difference with it off to the side, and it does take up less of the frame that way. It is bulky, but I like the aesthetic of the one you have - very old-timey radio announcer, which works especially well for fantasy news. I had the same ceiling idea, though people smarter than me make it sounds less off-the-wall than I thought it was. And you could pull it down for effect!

I think I'm like an anti-audiophile, as I really don't hear much difference ever. BUT it's always worth it for the comedy, so good job buying that arm haha

Sound is good, decent range and not too loud or soft at any point. Thirding a try with an overhead mic setup - if only for the drama. Imaging grabbing it and bringing it right down to whisper conspiratorially or declaim like an old timey announcer. But the arm is definitely not in the way IMO.

Gotta agree with Jeffrey, he's on the money there. The mic coming upside down from above should take less of the frame, and be less imposing on your shots. You have a lot of theatricality and movement in your videos so optimizing the space that way should give you a little more play room. Look at film sets, or even news anchors, or in reality tv, the mic always comes from above in those projects. As for the sound, I think your mic is decent enough that it captures you to a high enough standard even if it's a bit to the side.

Hey, Daniel! Listened to the audio through the Focusrite 2i2 and Audio Technica M50x, here's my thoughts: - I feel like there's too much highs, it's especially noticeable for me on higher volume or when you're speaking closer to the mic. Cause of this the sound is a bit too "sharp" for my ear and it might me a bit unpleasant too listen to for a long period of time - Mb add a bit more compression, right now your "yelling" is a bit overpowering over other audio) Take this as a friendly advice with a grain of salt, I'm not a professional audio engineer, just an enthusiast that played around with it a bit myself. And if you need it, here's something about the shure mics, cause I own SM7B and know a couple of things about it (cheaper MV7 and SM7B are really similar): - They will need to be really close to your face for a good sound (ideally you need to kiss them), so mb not the ideal option for you, as you move a lot in the frame) - SM7B requires A LOT of additional gain, so you will need a separate device for that (don't know about mv7) - For audio processing on the fly (plus additional gain for the mic) I cannot recommend enough a dbx286s. It's a device that will give you +60db of gain, and a built-in compressor, eq, de-esser, and expander/gate. The last thing is especially works like magic for me - it can reduce all the background noise and bad room acoustics and give me studio-quality sound anywhere! (here also helps that sm7b is a dynamic mic, and not a condenser one like your Rode) And all for the price of less than $200! (no, i'm not selling no)))

The setup doesn’t bother me. Have you tried and overhead/mic-down setup?
