HELP US MAKE A DECISION!
Added 2025-07-09 18:13:20 +0000 UTCHello beautiful people. We are trying to make the final call on whether or not to keep adding the characters along the bottom of the future summaries. We've gotten a few people saying they are distracting. We can easily pull them out of the existing videos so don't worry about that. It would actually be saving us a TON of editing work down the road.
THAT BEING SAID, I have learned over the years that people who don't like something are more likely than people who do, so to avoid that bias, we want to directly ask you, should we keep the character icons across the bottom of the video like we did in the last one?
Arguments for:
-Those who haven't read the series can keep it all straight easier.
-Seeing the cast and additional fan casting can be fun.
-Visually adds depth to the screen.
Arguments against:
-They can be distracting.
-It is a bunch of extra work. (but absolutely worth doing if you think it will help most people).
-Arguably clutter the screen.

I'm not against it. But I don't think you should have them if you don't have them for everyone including those not in the series who are important to the story: Gaul, Amys, Vandene to name a few or any other character that is introduced later on like Tuon or Cadsuane. Or Gareth Bryne in the beginning of the latest video. That is my take on this.

2025-07-14 10:22:40 +0000 UTCI feel like the visuals are helpful to non-reader show fans, especially for all the semi-major characters. I think it's probably more helpful just to show characters when they're mentioned rather than keep the whole party on screen. Another idea I just had- what do you think of having a "forsaken tracker"? It could just be a list of names on a side-board with an x if they're (assumed to be) dead, or an arrow to their new name if they come back
