Good editing with the map! If possible could you add in arrows to show direction as well? Kind of like "They move from here to here" or something like that? Also when Elayne is dressed down for "revealing the secret of the Kin" she kind of is on trial, and all five of the rebel Aes Sedai are there. Then she gets a letter from Jaichim (not Pedron) and decides enough is enough and dresses them down instead.

2025-08-21 14:13:15 +0000 UTCWhen I was going through the books for the first time and we were first really getting the Rand and Lews dialogue, I was trying so hard to figure it out. I had theorized that Rand and Lews Therin, through some sort of freak connection due to Rands Reborn status and Saidar, had a mental connection across time. Thus hearing each other in their own heads, which caused each other to go mad respectively (Lews therin hearing Rand during his time of madness and vice versa). Didnβt end up going there but I thought it wouldβve been a crazy twist.

I always suspected RJ gave Min so much time with Rand because she isn't a chaneller and doesn't bear the responsibility for her people's very survival .

2025-07-30 22:17:06 +0000 UTCI feel like "igloo time" may get a chilly reception, and yet I also know that is going to stick in my mind for a long time. ;) possible suggestion for the characters at the bottom of the screen - can the hexagons on the right be used for character receptacles, maybe? I mean, I know that there aren't enough at times, but the hexagons just kinda seem to be there waiting for something. I dunno, just a thought, may be even more of a hassle then putting them at the bottom (Bear Elayne does make me giggle inside every time, though)

Halima was Balthamal, Aginor became someone else that I won't say for spoilers:) Birgitte and Mat's friendship is so good, and the scene where she dresses down Ekayne and Nyneave for their treatment of him is one of my favourites! Technically the letter was sent by Jaichim, not Pedron. But I do love Elayne finally dressing down the older Aes Sedai. Lan doesn't pull Nyneave directly onto a Sea folk ship, just the one he was on and they continue on to the Sea Folk. Rand breaking and remaking the crown was such a cool scene. Slight note, you said he used saidar instead of saidin, but this could count as homage to how RJ would make that mistake too. I love how Rand's upbringing is so different to the nobles he has to associate with as the Dragon. Him thinking he's being merciful sending them to farms, but for them that's worse than death. Fain technically slashed Rand, not stabbed :) I find that book 7 is the soft launch of the slog, but book 8 is the hard launch. Love these videos, can't wait for more!

2025-07-29 19:45:21 +0000 UTCThe point about Mat being the best friend: I noticed in the book three summary (sorry, wasn't backing until a few books later) that you didn't mention Siuan's story about her uncle Huan. I always loved that bit of character work that at least *somebody* had pegged Mat's character from the start - despite his loud declarations to the contrary, he's the guy who will run into the burning house to save people. I forget which book exactly it is, but I also like the similar character point made about Perrin by Faile - she's trying to do some sneaky business and has to run about 5 levels of interference to keep it a secret from Perrin because she's noticed that he's not a *slow* thinker like a lot of other people (including Perrin) think. She's recognized that her husband is just *deliberate* and if you give him time he'll see through a brick wall and that characterization comes around regarding the "blacksmith puzzle" that is Malden later.

2025-07-29 19:15:02 +0000 UTC7 is actually a pretty good book with a decent ending. The "slog" is books 8-10, but there's still really great stuff that happens in each book. It also doesn't matter as much when you can go from book to book. The slog was only an issue when you wait years for a book and it only moves the plot forward incrementally.
