「じゃばぶぇ」は台湾語の「呷飽未？」に似た発音で、「食べた？」という意味です。台湾では、「美味しく食べると気分が良くなり、良い一日が過ごせる」と信じられており、食事を取ったかどうかを尋ねることが日常的な挨拶となっています。
