It’s understandable, as a child you have no concept of how an animation or a movie works, you just see it as a real event. Now onto what I was scared of as a kid. There was this one SpongeBob episode that terrified me and I was scared to watch as a kid titled “I had an accident.” And the focus was that SpongeBob hurt himself, became traumatized and refused to leave his house. So Patrick and Sandy try to get him to come out trying various things, and one of the things they tried was a gorilla, which was Patrick in a gorilla suit. Well another Patrick come onto the scene and it turns out it’s a live action gorilla and that scene scared me as a kid, just because to me it was so random and the sounds were terrifying to me. So I didn’t watch the episode til I was about 12-13 and I got over my fear. If you haven’t seen the episode, look it up.
