I really couldn’t vibe with the album. I don’t like the idea of new artist making old music. It’s totally unimaginative. It sounded good and everything but I was like playing on people’s nostalgia is low hanging fruit. Hard to progress if creatives just do renditions of the past. This goes for all mediums. I just think something like this and ask myself am I gonna play this before I play Al Green, or Marvin Gaye, or someone actually from that era. No. That’s just my personal opinion though. I know this is an unpopular take.
