Move to the south, save up while you in college or whatever you end up doing, then move back. Just because you 18 now does not mean you ready for them bills. Everything Dee said is true. If you struggling to just make ends meet and you in school, most people end up having to drop school. Get that higher education, internship, something so that mean you move back to Cali, you not working in fast food🤷🏽♀️

Like my mom said she is perfectly fine with me living with her up to the point until I get married if I would like to. There are these one Youtube twins I watch who are like 25 or 24 who are still living with their parents which a lot of people don’t understand because they make so much money. But that’s exactly why they are because they still live with their parents and split rent and I think that is the right way to do things

If you can live with your parents, do so but work and save as much as you can before you venture into these adulthood streets alone and then have all these bills you never even knew existed thrown at your head like a damn fast ball! Like as much as “being grown” and independent and all that is fine and great, take me back to a time where I didn’t have to pay bills please 😂 like if I knew then what I know now, I would have saved saved and saved some more. But if you’re ready and stable, living on your own can be so dope. Bu there’s always pros and cons to everything, so I hope people really take that into consideration when making major life decisions.

Waiting that long to leave allowed me to save up 20k and I purposely got fired from my job so I could get unemployment lol I was transferring to a University from a JC and didn't want to work while finishing college so I had to finesse. I was also getting financial aid on top of that so I made sure I was good before leaving home. So definitely be smart, save and prepare before moving out on your own!

2021-03-05 19:43:45 +0000 UTCYeah, I recommend you to move with your mom, get a job there and save and once you’ve finished school or have saved enough to pay for your own expenses for several months or more, then move back to California. I have had the misfortune to live on my own since I was 16, it’s not something I would wish on anyone. Sure there are some good things like my own space....and that’s it, but the struggle I’ve had...child it’s not worth it 😂 I WISH I could have lived with my momma until I was now years old! And I’ll be 31 next week! Lol, nah but for real, I really wish I could have lived at home and saved up for some YEARS before I lived on my own, but it wasn’t an option for me so it’s been years and years and years of struggle to pay bills and eat. I’m from Ohio but I moved to Portland Oregon 6 years ago, by myself. I was struggling back in Ohio where things are far cheaper than here, so when I got here biiiiiiitch 😂 being homeless for awhile, sleeping on “friends” floors/couches all that, it’s not fun. Luckily Nike is here and is always hiring and is a great place to make some roots so I was there for the first 3 years and I got on my feet and now I’m alright, but if I could have lived with my momma until I was about 25 or beyond, I would have!! But ultimately you have to do what’s best for you, if you can live with your momma, do it! If like y’all don’t get along and you’re going to be hella stressed and depressed or angry then try to find a better option for yourself, but in my opinion, if you can deal with living with her in any capacity, do it until your financially secure and mature enough to live on your own or with roommates.

However, once I started making a budget plan and adding up all of the bills on top of rent and how many more hours I'd have to work. I decided and life during the pandemic decided that it was best that I stay where I'm at. Last year I started working at Amazon, and, where I wanted to live (Charlotte NC) was about two weeks' worth of pay for rent alone, unless I doubled up my hours per week. On top of 20+ credit hours. Staying home and helping my parents out with bills and studying was definitely the move. I agree with what Dee said and what Markon said too. Saving is essential because you never know when a rainy day strikes and you'll need the extra cash or if you're trying to meet a certain goal, such as saving up for a sizeable down payment on a car or a house. I'd also say if you're really serious about it come up with a budget plan. One that encompasses your income, spending, goals, expenses, and savings. It may be tedious but it can be quite helpful.

I give my parents money for bills and to help out and at the same time I get to save as well.i used to want to live alone as soon as I graduated high school but then I remembered aside from my own personal spendings like phone bill,personal necessities and food+extra shii, me paying rent with full bills was a no. I always thought that it's fine if u choose to still bunk with ur parents as long as u got a plan or have something for yourself like a job if u are doing studies and want to help out. Some parents dont want their kids to stude in college while working, so I mean ay I respect that too. It's nothing bad to live with parents, as long as you can still do what u have to do

2021-03-05 15:45:48 +0000 UTCI’d say do it when you are ready. You don’t want to be stuck in a situation where you are struggling to make ends meet. Start saving early. But I wouldn’t stay there too long because parents are going to use your “growness” against you and eventually think about putting you out. I agree with Dee very much tho.
