I've heard too many times from female gaming friends how it wasn't until their adult years that they started their gaming hobby, cause their parents (almost always the mom) would try to lead them away from video games cause "they are for boys". So seeing Akira's childhood and wonder just getting abducted away from her is so heartbreaking to watch, since a lot of my friends have probably gone through something very similar.
