I've been contacted by a sponsor to collaborate with nine other artists, creating our own interpretation of a Sunflower.
The artwork, titled "You are my sun(flower)," is inspired by the unfolding of a sunflower following the sunlight, symbolizing the bestowal of power, courage, and freshness by the sun. It reflects the idea that, at different times, we can be both the blooming sunflower and the sun that helps others bloom. The relationship between giver and receiver is a central theme, portraying a person waiting for their sunflower to bloom when they encounter someone who acts as their sun.
The narrative is presented from two perspectives: the character within the image and the viewpoint of the observer. The story revolves around an individual patiently awaiting the blooming of their sunflower, emphasizing that even when the sun shines, the flower may not bloom until it encounters its own source of sunlight. The intention is for the viewer to empathize, feeling as if they, too, have become a sun for someone else.
