Added 2023-07-05 18:33:52 +0000 UTCOnly yesterday I noticed that in the manga Guts emerges from the water and not burnt grass pile! Which should've been obvious considering there is a panel of something heavy dropping in the lake while Rosine lands on the shore.
Anyhow I quickly started thinking of what can I do with water and colors and came up with this lighting for the final act. Perhaps in my Lost Children dawn is breaking too fast. You can check out the color test of water Guts in the next slide!
I used a random (stock?) photo of the 'lake at dawn' as a reference. Because I liked the mist and the grass was very similar to the manga.
