Diode Zone is open for invitation
Added 2018-10-07 21:21:00 +0000 UTCHi Everyone! Just a quick note, the PeerTube-powered video site I’ve been setting up is finally open for invitation after a miniature roller coaster of network issues and a long transcode queue of stream archive videos.

You can read what I’ve written about the sites’s rules and goals at the link here, and if you’d like an account feel free to send me a message either here or on twitter or mastodon. I made a @DiodeZone twitter account for the project too, which I plan to use for site status info.
PeerTube itself is still somewhat experimental and it has some rough edges, especially when it comes to long files and moderation. In parallel with running a PeerTube server (and making my own videos of course) I’ll be investigating alternative software approaches toward building decentralized video community.
Thanks again to my patrons, and as always please let me know what you’d like to see more of. I have plenty to do with Tuco Flyer still, but some reverse engineering projects sure would be nice too!

Happy to add you! Just DM me here or on Twitter or Mastodon to let me know what account name you'd like to use (up to 20 chars, a-z0-9_. only) and what email addy to associate with it for password recovery. Re the rules, I don't think I ended up basing it directly on any one thing but I took inspiration from many sources, including the Contributor Covenant and the terms for a few Mastodon servers like friend.camp and kitty.town, happy to share the rules with any other instances if they end up working well :)

2018-10-07 22:33:15 +0000 UTCDefinitely may be interested once I actually figure out video production :)
