disaster strikes. | Gilmore Girls 2x19 REACTION

This was such an interesting episode! I loved getting to see Luke work through a bit of a parenting struggle and I think he handled it the best way he knew how. I think he should've talked to lorelai about it first, instead of just going to Rory, but either way, he was on the right track. I also understand Lorelai's fears and frustrations with the situation but taking it on Luke was 1000% not right and I hated every second of that, but it is realistic. kirk's film made my whole year 🎉🩶

very interesting point and while I respect it, I really disagree with it. I wouldn't ever want someone who is my safe space to scream at me or say the things she said to him even if they are scared about something. he had no idea that there was even an accident and had to ask her like 5 different times to understand that something had even happened. In fact, if someone spoke to me that way knowing that the child I was a guardian of was missing and I had no clue where they were, if they were hurt, or if they were even alive at that point- it would be a long time before I would speak to that person again. I understand she was scared about Rory, but that treatment to me is unacceptable. at that point she knew exactly where Rory was and that she was fine. I would be way more forgiving of that behavior if they saw the smashed up car and had no clue where the kids were. then, yes. but honestly, if she tried to keep Rory from seeing jess, Rory would've found ways to and that would've been way more detrimental to their relationship. 🩶

He's right. Being in a war zone is too rough for Rory.

I never really had a problem with Lorelai's reaction. She already had concerns about this kid and kept letting people talk her into believing he wasn’t going to hurt Rory—and now, she was right. He did hurt Rory. Yes, she goes completely overboard here—obviously Jess never meant for this to happen—but she’s scared to death that her kid could’ve been killed, and that she "let it happen" by not keeping her away from Jess. But I love that she yelled at Luke. You know why? Because it shows that he’s her safe space. Sure, she’ll yell at anyone if the moment warrants it, but letting herself go that hard on him? She knows he cares about her, and she feels comfortable enough to go to extremes and have those emotional outbursts with him. At least, that’s how I see it. Sigh. I love them.
