Thank you :). Well the fur was made in Houdini which comes with a lot of options to tweak the fur's geometry and add variations in length, clumping, etc to make it look more natural. For rendering I am using Redshift's older hair shader which is similar to the hair shader used in movies like Tangled or Brave.
