June Patreon’s Log.

Hello again, everyone!

As part of my new effort to bring more exclusive rewards to my Patreon supporters, I’ll be writing a monthly dev log to discuss current projects, future plans, and other topics.

You’ve probably noticed that I’ve been working on new exclusive rewards for Patreon and my Itch.io page. The latest was Chronicles of Deepworld, a fantasy & NTR CG set featuring a dark elf matriarch and a group of orcs. Now, I’m excited to share some updates on my next project!

Staying true to my love of fantasy—especially D&D-inspired settings—my next project is The Confession (working title), a short narrative-driven eroge with light BDSM elements. It follows Priestess Hildegard, a “Pelorian” cleric on a mission to uncover corruption within the High Patriarch’s ranks. So far, I’ve been focusing on character design and, more importantly, developing the “paper” prototype.

Blest-Missionary Hildegard: Not all clerics bear their patron’s favor—but those who do are bestowed the title of Blest.

Of course, this honor includes no special privileges. Like any cleric, Hildegard must answer the Patriarch’s summons.

Sneak Peek: Prototype Preview

It mighting I should have used for previous projects!). With just some notes and sketches, I can test and tweak gameplay mechanics while identifying the assets needed to complete the game. In this case, the prototype—along with some trusty D6 dice—has allowed me to playtest the mechanics, as The Confession is essentially a Roll & Write game, similar to that dungeon crawler I made back in 2022.

Right now, I’m pretty happy with the prototype and feel ready to wrap up pre-production. Before moving forward, though, I need to finalize the list of additional assets—mainly music and sound effects. That’s a task for later, though, especially since I have a slight obsession with the YM2608 and YM2612 sound chips.

As for a release window, I don’t have an estimated date yet. Initially, I planned to develop this in Adventure Game Studio, but I’ve decided to switch to Pixel Game Maker—a tool associated with the (in)famous RPG Maker series. I have more experience with it, which should help speed up development despite its limitations (still waiting for news on that new Godot-based version, though).

Overall, I have a good feeling about this project, and I’m excited to see it come to life. Catch you in the next log!
