2025-08-06 14:33:10 +0000 UTCAdmiral Souther was too honorable to be in that role. Unfortunately the UN is quite corrupt and he was just not going to follow orders he deemed unlawful. Phoebe was a moon of Saturn, its just an oversized rock really. The station there was established by the Martian Naval Scientific Service and Protogen which is a privately owned corporation ( specialized in bio-weapon research ) under the Mao-Kwikowski Mercantile which is owned by Julie's dad. Earth had no authority or jurisdiction there so striking Deimos which is one of the moon of Mars is indeed an act of war and an unlawful order. If Souther follows that order he would have been complicit in starting a war with Mars that could end the life on Earth for good. The man had integrity, he was not going to go along with that. The implications of what Dresden told them is huge. Phoebe was carrying the proto-molecule designed to impact on Earth and hijack the early life there for it's own purpose but it was captured by Saturn's gravity and never fulfilled it's purpose. The interesting thing about this ( and probably why the writers used it ) because Phoebe is in fact a captured object from most likely the Kuiper Belt ( Outer Solar System ). Everything about it is irregular, its orbit around Saturn is elliptic, its orbit is retrograde ( orbits backwards in relation to other moons of Saturn and almost everything else in the Solar System ) its about 1/16 of the size of our Moon. It has frozen ice ( therefore water ) and reflects only a tiny portion of sunlight. Most scientist believes that Phoebe is a primordial object which means it most likely date from the formation of the Solar System. It's a really interesting object and lends a whole lot of authenticity to the show. Love details like that. Regarding Miller...that was the man who was responsible for Julie's death. Besides that he just killed a 100k belters and he wasnt even remotely remorseful about it, quite the opposite. Think about the scale of that number though that's genocide on an industrial scale and he didnt looked like he would think twice to do it again or worse.

Once the Rocinante got right next to the stealth ship at the end of the fight it had an advantage with its Point defense cannons (PDCs). The angular design of the stealth ship (to help its stealth technology) worked against it as their own defense cannons couldn't cover every angle at such a close distance.
