Full Length Reaction Guide
We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync. Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. I always wondered what would have happened if Jim had made it to the CDC. Would that have given Jenner hope in continuing his work with fresh samples again, and motivated the group to go find fuel to keep the generators going. It would've been a way different story going forward.

God, what a better way to reinforce his view that the world truly is lost, a hell of eternal torment, if you've lost all will to that extent, it makes sense to want to check out permanently in a painless way. Jenner truly thought he was doing their group a favor by ending their suffering. The only question to ask then, will they manage to find joy and safety again, or will Jenner be proven correct?

2025-07-21 19:08:45 +0000 UTCI used to have a reaction channel way back and I think I was one of the first people to react to this show having never seen it before, I remember a bunch of my videos got shared by the company behind the comics, so its very special to me, I fell in love with it - so I'm really excited for you to experience this story now that you're moving onto s2 and the world only gets bigger :') so many iconic stuff going forward, its so nostalgic going through these episodes with you again, having not seen them since the first time I reacted to them

I think it was the only season I watched back in the day when they used to come out. I only saw the first/later ones in recent years.

2025-07-21 15:31:21 +0000 UTCYes, TS-19 was the doctor’s wife, and the only actual sample of tissue that might have provided a cure. With the lab accident at the end of episode 5, Jenner knew any chance of a cure or vaccine was basically over, hence the despair which led to suicide. He basically let our characters in because he still had some humanity left, could give them a hot shower (can you imagine going without one for 2 months????) and lots of alcohol and food to share before the CDC went into self destruct mode. He had already decided on “opting out” but while he had something to offer this group of strangers, why waste it, at least give them a good night before everything was going to be destroyed.

Had Jenner not given up all hope he could have been a great guy to have along, in this sort of situation you always want a medical doctor of some sort as part of the group. But as the end of episode 5 showed, Dr. Jenner had unfortunately committed to “opting out”. 😢😢😢

2025-07-21 06:38:19 +0000 UTCThe more and more I watch this, I see the original writer (Kirkman of the comics) using the classic juxtaposition of the idealist versus the pragmatist/realist. Rick is an idealist. Shane is a pragmatist. They show it through Lori’s perspective where she said something like “both are partially right,” …. This is a conflict as old as time that has been seen over and over throughout history and is just part of the human experience, here it is put in a zombie apocalypse and explored beautifully.

2025-07-21 05:54:10 +0000 UTCI was discussing with someone, I think Lyn, how Shane really did try everything to save Rick’s life, this intro scene is what I was referring to. Shane put his life on the line … a policeman who had to hide out from the freaking military… and putting the gurney in front of Rick’s door likely had future walkers pass by and allowed Rick the chance to survive and wake up from the coma. Shane’s behavior in this episode is beyond reprehensible, but that was now, this is then, to turn the old phrase on its head.

2025-07-21 03:37:01 +0000 UTCI love Shane as a character but he’s just not very smart and is mostly a hothead considering he was thinking of killing Jenner with a shotgun and shooting up the computers and ruining any chance of them escaping and that why Rick knocked him to the ground and stopped him , Shane’s stupid bc his plan was to go the military which is even more stupid than Rick’s plan considering it’s already seen that the military doesn’t have anything left, he is a good fighter just like Rick but not very smart.

2025-07-21 01:46:33 +0000 UTCI can't really fault Jenner. He saw his wife slowly degrade and have a painful death only to come back a monster that he had to put down. His guiding light was extinguished and he had no reason to go on, nothing to fight for. So to him, it was better to get the pain over with in a quick explosion rather than drag out the inevitable, living in fear and struggling to survive just to die anyway. He must have thought he was doing the group a favor by sparing them pain.

I completely understood Jenner's hopelessness and why he thought dying painlessly is better than being devoured by walkers but he was wrong for making the choice for them. I'm loving Spartan and Pudgey's war against the pronunciation of Merle 😂

At the end of each season, you could name your top 3 favorite characters and the 3 you like the least. For season 1 it’s obviously to late and might have benn a bit early too, but maybe you could start doing it again from season two finale onward.
